Gentlecat: re docker and registrator, I'm running both inside containers

I had to make /var/run a shared folder inside VirtualBox and do this in the compose file https://gist.github.com/mwiencek/c1cfd3534c6c64...

the -internal is important otherwise it only registers ports published on the host

I'm still having issues with consul-template seeing the services though

I can see the services with correct names in consul, but when I do something like '{{- with index (service "postgres-master") 0}}' in a template it says "index out of range"

hello, I've been trying to upgrade a MusicBrainz server to the latest schema change as described here: https://blog.musicbrainz.org/2016/05/25/schema-...

after following all those instructions I encounter the error: "could not open extension control file "/usr/share/postgresql/9.5/extension/musicbrainz_unaccent.control": No such file or directory

when I try to run ./admin/InitDb.pl --createdb ...

any idea why this would be happening?

you are likely missing the database extensions

hmm, I thought this would all be taken care of through the database upgrade process

Did you recompile the extensions for 9.5?

so I just tried `sudo make install`, but I see references to postgresql 9.3 in the output

No. Did you update the -dev packages?

hmm, you might have to change the pg_config it points to if 9.3 is still installed

bitmap: pg_config is definitely all wrong - everything points to 9.3

I thought 9.3 was removed as part of my upgrade process but I probably messed something up

can try seeing what's still installed with dpkg-query -l | grep postgres

if it's safe for you to remove 9.3

9.3 and 9.5 side by side

just tried sudo apt-get purge postgresql-9.3

which seems to have done something... but hasn't changed the output of dpkg-query

floppybird: I'm doing the disks differently in this VM, which is my best guess.

I think 15GB+ of that is just not necessary, because I think that VB's export process is not as optimal as it could be
