Last week I spent time on replication packet recovery code. Blogging. Catching up on email. Doing finances.
I also tweaked the search server code to fix some ISE's and tune down logging. There are loads more tweaks to be done, such as using a ram disk for index storage.
In London for a perfunctory board meeting and a mb presentation for the OMI. I'm curious to see how OMI things are going, so this should be insightful.

So I guess zas is next. :)

Support and a couple easy small style tickets. Still crazy with school and stuff. Took a look at all the other recently opened tickets but most seem non trivial and need discussion. Fin

Hey

I worked on a stat script, which parses nginx logs and inject metrics in influxdb
almost finished, i hope to put it in prod tomorrow
it will help us to measure performance, and improve thingds
apart that, nothing more than usual supervision
i also prepared few changes we need to do on current platform
because performance on web servers is quite bad atm

CatQuest hasn't said anything, so I don't think they're around.
Leo_Verto
I'm not around either

As was already mentioned, I gave some creative input to the replication packet recreation business.

I went to my girlfriend's (Sweden) on Wednesday, and then to Copenhagen for a battle and Christmas dance thing on Sat/Sun.
I've done a little bit of GCI'ing, but mostly been keeping up with IRC and forums.
CatQuest

I plan to do catch up on/with GCI stuff this week.
I'll be going to Copenhagen Thursday and my girlfriend and I will both go to BCN early(!) Saturday.
But.
In one week from now, the GCI will. be. on!

CatQuest imagines freso as a viking with girfliends and battles (I know it's like rap battle but)
Freso
So that'll be most of my week this week, when I'm not spending time with GF I reckon. :)
Okay. fin.
Leo_Verto? Leftmost? LordSputnik?
LordSputnik
Most of what I did this week was adding more GCI tickets
CatQuest
hy has I read that as leomost pudding
LordSputnik
Got in one for translating our static content and finished up the documentation of code ones
I'm aiming to have 1/2 of all GCI tasks be BookBrainz tasks - at the moment I'm about 5 behind that
Freso
LordSputnik: Translation tasks aren't acceptable. :( I'll explain more after meeting or off-channel.
LordSputnik
Oh really? Is it because it excludes English-speakers?
Freso
LordSputnik: No.
LordSputnik
OK, well, we'll think of some alternatives, but no shortage of ideas yet
Apart from that, I did a little bit of thinking about the data module for BB and where to take that next
fin.
Leo_Verto: Leftmost?
Freso
LordSputnik: Feel free to poke stanislas_ whenever he's around and add him as a mentor if he's willing. :)
Leo_Verto
Nothing from me this week.
CatQuest
wadda mean excludes english speakers? i speak english?
Leo_Verto
CatQuest, native English speakers are less likely to know a foreign language (almost unthinkable in most of the EU :P)
Freso
Okay. Guess that's it for reviews.
chirlu
Iβll try again then. :)
LordSputnik
CatQuest: I mean, native English speaking students who aren't fluent in other languages would miss out on a translation task
CatQuest

CatQuest
I'm pretty sure there's most not-english pseaking people speaking english online, see f.ex this channel
Freso
chirlu: Oh, sorry!
chirlu
I also held contact with replication users on the forums mostly.
Freso
Dammit.
gcilou
CatQuest: They mean people like me who only speak English fluently wouldn't be able to do translation tasks

The updated CAPTCHA seems to work, as the number of new editor accounts created per day has dropped considerably.
CatQuest
gcilou: ah yea. but uh, i thikn you're in the minority? idk, maybe not

Letβs hope itβs removing the right portion, not the human users. ;-)
CatQuest
yea :o

( CatQuest: It's normal in the US :) )
CatQuest
but i mena, as long as they aren't spam bots we welcome any user, evne if it's a robot
gcilou: the US =/= the world :D

I also crossed the number of 250 fixed MBS tickets. There are still four missing for the binarily round number (2^8), though. :-)

CatQuest: very true but there are many gci students from the US and we don't want to exclude all of them :)
