I had this rather ephiphanous bath the other day where I tried to get the google assistance to play an album on spotify.
I started thinking about AI/semantic web and the current state of things like Knowledge Graph, WikiData and MusicBrainz.
I was frustrated that Google assistant couldn't load the right album for me.
only yesterday did I realize that it was *our* fault for that not working.

:P
ruaok
Google doesn't yet know about the newly released album I was trying to request.
that was eye opening and fun.
Leo_Verto
on a similar note, I've only been using Spotify for a few months and it's suggestions just fit my taste in music so perfectly, I've rediscovered quite a few songs I used to listen to a few years ago
ruaok
nice when that works, no?
reosarevok
Give everyone Spotify Premium too! :p
Leo_Verto
it's great, now if only we could build a suggestion engine like that with LB…
reosarevok
(I already pay for it, so I don't care, but :) )
(Imagine, me paying for something!)
Leo_Verto
I just don't get any ads for some reason :P
reosarevok
I didn't care that much about the ads, but shuffle-only on mobile was too much of a pain
ruaok
I had figured out how to pay for spotify before they launched in the US.
Leo_Verto
yeah, couldn't imagine listening to music like that
ruaok
when they actually launched they sent people like me an email: "Congrats you managed to trick us. No more. Here is a free month of premium, then you need to sign up [here]."
ok, fine. :)
Freso|laptop
Spotify on Linux has broken for me... and I already didn't use it enough to feel like it warranted spending money on it. :/
reosarevok
Freso|laptop: I haven't used the program for ages, the online player is much more comfortable
(or is that broken too?)
On desktop that is, I do use the mobile app obvs
Leo_Verto
Freso|laptop, the spotify package from the AUR is working fine for me
samj1912, started reviewing your code, going to try to break it now
samj1912
lol okay :P
it might go under a recursion loop depending on how botbot is implemented, not sure :P
Leo_Verto
I looked at other plugins and they also seem to run initialization stuff in the Plugin class
samj1912
okay
wait, let me do that
Leo_Verto
samj1912, it seems the other plugins have tests, mind writing some for your plugin as well?
samj1912
okay :P
will do
Leo_Verto
the GH plugin test is a good starting point
samj1912
yeah :)

alastairp: the reference to vagrant in musicbrainz-docker is now gone. however, it does assume now that musicbrainz-server code will be checked out in the home dir of the account that is building the containers.
