what should our 'ideal list' of uses be? I felt this was limiting our use cases (therefore not a great message)

well, first and foremost we're a database an encyclopedia of music information.

yes

that is our mail goal. then there are uses of our database.

1) tagging music collections is totally valid, but not our main purpose

we really need to get that message more into the wild.

2) synchronizing the music (tech) industry via MBIDs and helping fix their endemic data problems.

3) data for building new music tools and websites.

4) Search for music things, such as google search and wolfram alpha.

just a few off the top of my head.

we should go through each of our supporters and categorize them.

I agree mayhem--we basically need a brand architecture--which will help Rassami too. the more info we can provide the better, no?

Inside CoverArtBox.set_metadata, I'm getting two images in metadata.images if an album has files with different covers, so I was planning to combine them and show all images that would be replaced with the new one

I used to help with them when I was in advertising--they are house structured--but basically a doc--that shows the relationships of the products and clients--this creates an easier way to talk about messaging

Quesito: got it. sounds like we could benefit from clarifying this. fortunately each product has a clear goal and the goals do not overlap between projects. which ought to make a BA pretty straighforward.

CatQuest: yes, read that bug in the comment, I think it might be an old bug, although there is some weird issue with flac files and large image tags

so it might or might not have been fixed

it might also happen if picard was closed while saving

earlier it used to immediately close all threads, now it waits for them to finish

(not urgent) Gentlecat: I would like to add another tab in the admin view that shows filtered data from the "users" table in the paginated display, similar to the payments view. can you please point me to an example of how I might add filter conditions to query of the view?

In the same vein, being able to add an an order by clause for the payments view would also be good, so I can fix the payment view.

And while we use AcoustID in MusicBrainz and AcoustID relies on/utilises MusicBrainz IDs, neither of the two are tied to each other. MusicBraiz could easily switch to using another (or additional) fingerprinting services; AcoustID could choose to drop its MBID reliance and make

its own or use another provider's.
