Just want to say hi. The listenbrainz project sounds really cool. Librefm never really did it for me and I'm not sure it's even still a thing. I'd love to contribute however I can. I've imported Last.fm data from on and off over a period of, I think, 13 years fwiw. I do mostly Lisp, Erlang and academic type theory stuff, but would be willing to get my hands
dirty with python again.
Iiuc, Twitter implies there's some sort of forthcoming release. I'd love, for example, to help package it for Nix. Shouldn't be too tricky, since it looks like you're using Docker extensively already.
Anyway, I'll stay in this channel now and will get messages/mentions later if I'm away. I look forward to seeing where this goes!

yurrriq: that is great to hear! have you taken a look at the version of LB at beta.listenbrainz.org?
It is a test version of the beta we're planning to release
We would love it if you try importing there also :)
basically the idea is to run a process, listening on a port different from the main app, from its container or another one with access to the raw data, building a json document with all the metrics and the values. We have telegraf on every machine, and one is running in a container to collect data remotely (currently used for rabbitmq instances), we just
have to configure the http/json client, and query the sidecar status service on regular basis (currently every minute).
Or, if the data is public, just serve the metrics json from the app (if it is an http app already)

ruaok: i increased thresholds for number of processes on lemmy, warning is now at 350, 150 was too low
but, important question: now that we have a different server, does our status page need a different monkey?

jwf: if you have imports to do, please do them. whatever the problem was that I saw, seems to have resolved itself. maybe you can make it happen again.
