But even that wasn't actually too difficult. It more or less Just Worked™. :)
colbydray, yeah, it looks like it was a lot of work to track them all down. That's what it takes to keep a page like that up-to-date. well, that and people willing to "adopt" the page and keep an eye on it.

I think I've found a bug in the ws2 API, but before reporting it I just want to make sure I'm not doing something wrong
2017-04-18 10837, 2017

when using ws/2/recording, the following inc string works just fine "aliases+releases+artist-credits+artist-rels+work-rels+tags+release-groups"

lol, n/m, in pasting that URL I see my problem :)

nope, got the wrong URL, so here's my question, using ws/2/release with inc "artists+artist-credits+release-groups+artist-rels+aliases+tags" works just fine
2017-04-18 10821, 2017
agentsim
but using ws/2/release with the same inc string, but specifying recording=xyz tells me "artists is not a valid parameter for the release resource"
2017-04-18 10833, 2017
agentsim
is that a bug, or am I misunderstanding something

And if I get it working I will certainly document it for others.

CallerNo6: if you're around when agensim comes back... Those are two different queries - one is lookup, the other is browse
2017-04-18 10848, 2017
alastairp
the second is actually invalid because you can't do a browse-by-recording when also specifying a release. Perhaps the server should return a more specific error there instead of giving an error about the includes
so, I have no idea how long this process will take or if we have a hope of ever completing it. because spain.

or if they land on the payment page, make it very clear that they need to choose the correct one.
2017-04-18 10808, 2017
ruaok
also, did we implement a feature that mails us when a payment comes in?
2017-04-18 10813, 2017
Gentlecat
just saying that this limitation is kind of artificial unless payment currency is defined on their metabrainz account
2017-04-18 10833, 2017
Gentlecat
but they don't need to use an account to pay anyway, so
2017-04-18 10821, 2017
ruaok
it is totally artificial and the intended goal.
2017-04-18 10845, 2017

2017-04-18 10809, 2017

then the account should be used by devops/engineering/sysadming to use our services.
2017-04-18 10823, 2017

and then it could also get used for accounting. eww.
2017-04-18 10845, 2017

and if we require accounting to log in in order to pay, we'd never ever see another payment again.

I agree with ruaok, Gentlecat--this is needs to be as simple and clear as possible. Just in the feedback I've received in the last two weeks--the folks in charge of paying us are not web savvy.

I think the least amount of options given the better.....as we try to continue to simplify and streamline accounting as much as possible--we should have supporters contributing in a regular currency type--without any option for altering. Everytime there is one small error in accounting it's about a 3-5 days to clean up--and we don't have large accounting

the payment currency is defined in our invoicing system--and needs to stay one currency. turns out accounting software is not super flexible....I'll be AFK for a bit but back soon if you want to discuss more, I'm open to any ideas that will continue to simplify and streamline the system....
Gentlecat: yeah, we can't really move more accounting tasks into meb.org -- that would be a major undertaking. and may never fly with accounts payable departments the world over.

to me that suggests one connection from the master process which can create channels on a per thread basis that is closed once the incoming request is served.
