ok, then I might have found a bug. I tried to add a series as relationship and an error message appeared: Incorrect entity type for part of series relationship at lib/MusicBrainz/Server/Data/Relationship.pm line 565, <$fh> line 1.

maybe we should just say "Flatpak is the one and only supported way to install Picard on Linux" and remove the instructions for everything else :P

I don't know much about Flatpak, but maybe just linking to the Flatpak repository would be enough? Surely they'll have links from there to help potential users get started?

That might work in theory, except that I don't think any of the devs actively working on Picard are actually using Flatpak, so we wouldn't know the first thing about it. :)

like, GNOME Software is currently the only "app store" which supports installing flatpaks, and it still has quite a few quirks

I think just linking to Flatpak/Hub is the way to go anyway though.

If people want to use Flatpak, there are plenty of instructions out there for that.

once the support in GNOME Software gets improved, once KDE has its own (is it called Discover? I always forget), once more distros have Flatpak available (or even preinstalled, who knows), then it might all end up becoming much easier
