pretty soon you'll need to start looking at the recommendation stuff. a recommendation engine on the baseline is a complex thing. but on a bigdata scale it gets hard fast.
      • 2018-01-29 02939, 2018

      • ruaok
so, the first step is for us to figure out what sort of algorithms we want to use and then figure out how to massage the data int BQ to facilitate that.

alastairp: hard to know exactly, but hetzner low prices are mostly coming from consumer-grade servers, and therefore i doubt replacing cheap stuff with cheap stuff will work. Imho the best approach for us is to improve our redundancy. In this case, you can see the server was fixed quickly and the impact for users was limited. It could have been even more limited if we detect the slow response time and reduce number of

that said, we still have too many weak points, many SPOFs, etc... but the current situation is way better than the one we had the year before we move to Hetzner. If you look carefully you'll notice than most failures we had since the move are due to software, not hardware. Not that i'm totally happy with the current situation, but the fact is we server more requests, more reliably, downtimes were drastically reduced,
