ruaok, zas: queen is now running with hot_standby_feedback = 'on', should be okay to point more queries there
ruaok
great.
zas
why is this needed ? "This parameter can be used to eliminate query cancels caused by cleanup records, but can cause database bloat on the primary for some workloads." <-- not sure what it means for us
bitmap
it's needed to make queen usable by preventing pg from cancelling queries conflicting with replication
"If you do this, you should note that this will delay cleanup of dead rows on the primary, which may result in undesirable table bloat. However, the cleanup situation will be no worse than if the standby queries were running directly on the primary server, and you are still getting the benefit of off-loading execution onto the standby."
ruaok: Are waters calm enough for us to have the meeting in 25 minutes, or should we delay/cancel tonight in favour of vigilance/maintenance?
ruaok
calm enough.

iliekcomputers: can you please have CB use postgres-slave for this DB access?
iliekcomputers
ruaok: okay
Should be easy enough.

ideally fallback to postgres-master if postgres-slave isn't available

Wikidatabot hasn't run for ages (since January, where you took it down as you suspected it for some other db interference).

ruaok: that sucks, not sure of a way around that
I guess we'd have to make them persistent tables in the schema and fill them in an rw connection first.

I have recently brought up the idea of having a mass ISRCS button on the community of metabrainz and I was asking on how you guys feel if we can take jesus2099 script and put it in the system however o think this idea could take a year or 2 unless it's easy to do I am wanting to have the community's thoughts on this
So, I did the usual support, and dealt with quite a few style tickets
Currently I've solved more tickets in 2018 than have been added D:
Of course, there's still a couple hundred open ones anyway, but eh, getting better hopefully :)

Still a lot of moving and moving in stuff going on. I did manage to be a bit more around this last week, even managed to catch up on one of the (many) meeting notes I'm behind. I also dealt with some editor conflicts (reported and otherwise). And as aye, I spent time on IRC and forums.

This week I worked on fixing a few bugs with the new relationship editor. There was a problem with the way react-select was filtering entities returned from the search request, caused by a change I made a few weeks ago.
I also fixed some issues with editing/adding relationships in the same form. I'm now hoping to sync up with bukwurm to get the server-side code finished, and then we should be able to release the new editor. Everything is nicely Flow-annotated in the new code, and that's helped eliminate a few bugs already.
I also updated the contributing guide in the bookbrainz-site repo, to cover a few code style points and talk more about commit message format.
And also had some useful conversations with CatQuest and bukwurm about what would be good to add/fix in BookBrainz in the near future, and about some technical aspects of bukwurm's GSoC project.
Oh, and I checked BB for signs of Google Analytics, and found nothing.

mostly spent time converting components used on entity pages to react... annotations, cb reviews, the show/hide controls for those, some followup changes to the wp extract components yvanzo did
submitted a pr for that, need to fix tests

Hi everyone!
Last week has seen a new release of MusicBrainz server, followed by a series of fixes. A new beta is available too. Expect a prod release next week.
Additionally tried to keep up with recently opened MBS reports, and a few STYLE ones.
About 0THER-77, I will most probably step back with Markdown support in JIRA as the only existing plug-in doesn’t seem to be satisfactory. Markin’s main drawback is its lack of user-friendlyness compared to the stock text editor in JIRA, especially for newcomers to use.
That’s all I think, chhavi_?

Last weekend I have met iliekcomputers regarding the discussion about AB project and the starting work I would be doing in the coding period.
And I am planning to complete the already open PRs(if more work is required) before coding period begins, once I get a review from him.

This week, I worked on solving the curious case of not refreshing views for Postgres search. Turns out a race condition I was silly enough to miss.
I also worked on relationship editor's server side code a bit.
Today I started working on CatQuest few recommendations, but ended up improving the way editors are notified of existing entities.
Here's a small demo, I have since then made disambiguation validation compulsory if the exact name matches for the entity type.
CatQuest
like in mb?

I am in the process of brushing it up and committing in a day or so.

Hi
It's been a busy week with final practicals and a few assignments. Now I've final exams in this week and the next one. So, I'm not able to get involved in community bonding in a way students are expected to. I did read the tutorial on SQL ORM http://docs.sqlalchemy.org/en/latest/orm/tutori... to under mbdata in a much better way. I'm waiting for reviews on BU-11.
i upgraded all servers, fixed minor issues coming with those upgrades
i also upgraded grafana & discourse to latest versions

i started to dig pg stuff related to issues we have atm
short story long: response times are very bad, and bowie's load is the cause of it, but we don't know yet what's the cause of the load...
