I didn't even know you could do "search for barcode/someother not being there by doing "Barcode:-" or whatever. I didn't know that was a thing. "-barcode:*" does make a lot more sense. (fro ma totally not coder pov)
I'd except "barcode: -" beign about searching for a barcoe set as "-" tbh
(which, since we can't even have non-numeric barcodes in the first place, makes 0 sense)
or should that be NULL sense? ;))

ruaok: reosarevok for each entity's mbid search, we have something like 'aid' for areas, 'arid' for artists 'reid' for releases, wouldn't it be better to switch all of them to a uniform `mbid` field?
48 LB users have either deleted or renamed their accounts on MB.
Freso
samj1912: `discid:` may not be used often, but it may be something that some people rely on for some searches (e.g., "all CD releases by Amazing Artist that do not have discids" (can't think of any valid use cases not negating the discid though)).
More likely to have been deleted… iliekcomputers, do have access to e-mail addresses and can compare those?
samj1912
hmmm
iliekcomputers
LB doesn't save anything but usernames rn.
Freso
samj1912: Also, changing all the `aid`, `arid`, etc. for a uniform `mbid` may improve consistency (to some degree- you can search for releases with RG MBIDs and RGs with release MBIDs, etc., so you still need non-`mbid` `*id` versions per-entity), but it will certainly break backwards compatibility much more than the `\-` syntax, no?
ruaok
48?
Freso
iliekcomputers: Do those 48 have any listens?
samj1912
Freso: yes, not talking about those
madmouser1 has quit
I am just talking about area-aid, event-eid
pairs like those
iliekcomputers
yes they do.
Freso
samj1912: Yes, that is what "but it will certainly break backwards compatibility much more than the `\-` syntax, no?" was about. :)
iliekcomputers
they do have listens, I mean.
ruaok
iliekcomputers: can you make a list of those 48?
Freso
Ha.
samj1912
hmm, true
I guess I will leave it in
Freso
ClpsHydra definitely exists. He's a regular on the forums.
samj1912
should I just remove `mbid` then?
Freso
Just seems like some UTF-8 misformatting.
(Should be an æ IIRC.)
samj1912
it isn't documented anywhere
and seems like it was introduced in solr only
iliekcomputers
hmm, there are two users with that problem: Fe Deuspi too
outsidecontext has quit
ruaok
iliekcomputers: let's do this then: 1. make your script load an exception list where we can look up exceptions to skip. 2. sort out the encoding problem.
then we can run the script and know that every user is getting properly managed.
samj1912
is the encoding problem due to printing it to console?
ruaok
and also, run delete_user for the accounts we no longer have.
yes, but that was only implemented recently so it won't cover all LB accounts
also, when a user is renamed, we don't put their old name in that table
Freso
We can see how many of the 48 are in that table at least.
bitmap
skipping accounts that don't exist in mb anymore makes sense. the issue I'm not sure you'll be able to solve is: user A making an account, deleting it, then user B taking user A's name. in that case it'll still look like user A still exists, when in fact it's a different person
ruaok
well, it is a temporal problem.
we'll need to propagate renames to the other projects as well.
then once all other projects have IDs and names, then the problem goes away, no?
bitmap
yea, it will solve it for all future cases
Freso

I have been working on some new albums as well as removing wikipedia links and with that I was going to ask is it possible to look up removal of wikipedia links on types of edits cause I looked them up but I cant seem to find it directly unless its removing relationship in general so if its not a thing could we look into this

Hi!
Last week I completed the work of importing the MusicBrainz metadata in acousticbrainz and worked on param's review and opened the PR's related to improvements in the code and would send the PR for the next work of updating the MB metadata in AB probably by tomorrow!

(For some reason the last line didn't make the cut… maybe it'll randomly pop up again. If so, soz in advance.)
ruaok
last week's overhead nonsense: chasing payments, finding new insurance, wrangling documents from california to spain and other assorted BS.
and I spent a fair amount of time thinking about and working on the new conflict resolution policy.
we're a tricky bunch that requires some tricky thinking.
CatQuest
hm
ruaok
also, lots of backup sketching on the SOLR stuff as well as PR review for MSB and LB.
and I spent tuesday installing a new door lock in the office. this one doesn't suck, is all scifi and will let us manage the summit easier.

hi!
Freso
(CatQuest (and others): The conflict resolution policy is for staff/contractors - it doesn't involve volunteers/the wider community.)
CatQuest
right
In continuing my work with INST-647 et al. idiophones, This week I've done quite a lot more reordering.
Wikipedia creating https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghijak AND commons to organise links, "MusicBrainz var bare toppen av kransekaka!" as the norwegian saying (ifr, "top of the iceberg)
In that vein, I would really, really really appreciate if anyone speaking german could fix the german WP pages too: since While I could guess based on what I know in Norwegian, I really don't speak this language and I don't feel comfortable moving parts to a new page based on Google Translate and my "torsk" (tysk + norsk).
Finally any other of the linked wiki's in https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q1521728 anyone who speaks languages can confirm or deny they talk of both instruments or no, would be so much appreciated <3
