I didn't even know you could do "search for barcode/someother not being there by doing "Barcode:-" or whatever. I didn't know that was a thing. "-barcode:*" does make a lot more sense. (fro ma totally not coder pov)

I'd except "barcode: -" beign about searching for a barcoe set as "-" tbh

(which, since we can't even have non-numeric barcodes in the first place, makes 0 sense)

samj1912: `discid:` may not be used often, but it may be something that some people rely on for some searches (e.g., "all CD releases by Amazing Artist that do not have discids" (can't think of any valid use cases not negating the discid though)).

I doubt it -- we don't store the original user name when we delete the account.

I think deleted usernames by users themselves get stored in a table for blocking future users from reusing the username, no?

skipping accounts that don't exist in mb anymore makes sense. the issue I'm not sure you'll be able to solve is: user A making an account, deleting it, then user B taking user A's name. in that case it'll still look like user A still exists, when in fact it's a different person
