        is now.
      • CallerNo6
does the 0(n^2) aspect get better eventually?
      • ruaok
        CallerNo6: that is the goal.
      • reosarevok
        CallerNo6: I dunno, but ruaok's mom doesn't
      • CallerNo6
wait, I have a compose key. sorry! O(n²)!
      • pac23xyz
hey ruaok if i screenshot this conversation will it be okay, for notes to be refereed later on
      • ?
      • ruaok
to take it from O(n^2) and get it closer to O(N*M)
      • (where M is your MoM)
      • reosarevok
        pac23xyz: it's logged :)
      • pac23xyz
        ah yes,forgot
      • ruaok
we're waiting to get the code from the thesis.
      • once we have that you can start playing around with it.
      • reosarevok
Actually, ruaok: your mom is a 24-sphere in 25-dimensional space, cuz she fat
      • pac23xyz
i need to bring out cormen now out of retirement to see the optimization
      • reosarevok
(that's what Wikipedia taught me, anyway :D )
      • pac23xyz
        i'll wait
      • ruaok
we may need to include one more task... to do some really fast way to eliminate a pile of matches.
      • reosarevok goes write some code since he sadly doesn't get paid for bad your mom jokes
      • pac23xyz
take some refresher lessons on vectors until then
      • ruaok
to further reduce the number of comparisons needed.
      • pac23xyz: don't bother with vectors.
      • CallerNo6
reosarevok, we could start a patreon where people pay us to not make jokes.
      • ruaok
in this context a vector really only means "array"
      • there will be no vector math.
      • also, pac23xyz, this project may fail.
      • it may simply not be workable with annoy and may need to be done with spark
      • but, as long as you do more or less as you say you will in your proposal we will not fail you.
      • the success of the project is not necessarily tied to your passing/failing
      • reosarevok
The amount of chocolate you give ruaok might be, though
      • pac23xyz
ruaok no math means even more nicer
      • Prashant1223 has quit
      • thats awesome to hear that you wont fail me thanks ruaok
      • ruaok
yea, this is a data crunching task. No real math involved.
      • oh, I may still fail you. if you don't live up to what you say you'll do, you'll fail.
      • pac23xyz
        ah yes offcourse
      • thats a fair part of gsoc
      • they simply dont pay participants so much to fail
      • ruaok
I just want to make it clear that this whole project may fail. but until we try, we won't know.
      • pac23xyz
my only concern is ruaok that this is a considereation project, because there are some orgs that have certain ideas that people work on but they are just fillers :/
      • reosarevok
Which is coincidentally what ruaok's mom told ruaok's dad before they had him
      • pac23xyz
yes we are not gonna know until we try something
      • reosarevok
CallerNo6: I think we might actually get a couple dollars a month with that patreon :p
      • ruaok
        > my only concern is ruaok that this is a considereation project, because there are some orgs that have certain ideas that people work on but they are just fillers :/
      • not sure what you mean by that
      • reosarevok
Whether it's actually relevant and useful? If so: if it works, it should be quite relevant and useful :)
      • ruaok
useful? I wanted this project done 5 years ago.
      • wait how old is AB?
      • pac23xyz
i mean a student gets only 3 slots and then some orgs have multiple projects listed and then they say that was just a filler, students spend all that time working on it,making hte proposal etc
      • reosarevok
Oh. Every project we have is a project we want
      • But this specifically is one ruaok wants quite a lot :)
      • ruaok
we've had the opposite problem. where we dont find enough qualifying students.
      • we, except reosarevok, have high standards.
      • pac23xyz
        lol
      • reosarevok
Er. You hired me, what does that say about your standards?
      • ruaok
in fact, that we have reosarevok, proves the exception to our rule.
      • pac23xyz
yeah thats nice, that each project is a required one
      • is it true that if you fail gsoc google wont hrie you ?
      • i have heard this thing going around a lot
      • especailly in my school
      • ruaok
there is no connection between gsoc and getting hired by google.
      • pac23xyz
folks are scared to apply because if they fail google will reject them later by storing them on a list
      • stupid bs
      • ruaok
        that is a false correlation.
      • if you fail GSoC you're almost guaranteed to fail a google interview.
      • reosarevok
If you fail GSoC because you're shitty, I imagine Google wouldn't hire you anyway
      • ruaok
reosarevok, so, don't apply for google, ya?
      • reosarevok
If you fail GSoC because you had a family emergency, or got hit by a bus, or whatever, I doubt anyone would give a shit :p
      • ruaok: amazingly enough, I'll remind you I passed GSoC. Twice.
      • pac23xyz
yeah, but folks here think that even years later however polished you become you'll endup on a list at google
      • crazy talk
      • reosarevok
(that said, I would much rather work for MB than Google, so :) )
      • pac23xyz
i wonder what a google interview is like,
      • ruaok
aw man. am I ever going to live down the fact that you passed, reosarevok?
      • sheesh, I've paid my price already!
      • reosarevok
Tbh, given how shit our setlists are, I'm surprised I did :p
      • I guess you had even lower standards back then
      • Well, you as in MB :)
      • ruaok
        yep that is true.
      • then this riff raf came in and raised the standards. peer review and being nice to everyone but reosarevok
      • what a disgrace.

      • pac23xyz
btw ruaok my og/op irc name and basically username everywhere is pac23
      • right now irc wont let me claim it even though i have registred so using this one
      • CallerNo6
gah. for a bunch of people who believe in interoperability, the google/schema.org people couldn't have made it any harder to use their json-ld "spec".
      • (table in a pdf)
      • pac23xyz
i guess they deliberately did it
      • CallerNo6
        not unlikely
      • pac23xyz
why would they make it harder ?

if you have a serious gripe about schema.org, send me mail. I'll forward to the people who would like this feedback.
      • they created schema.org for people to use it, not to hinder people.
      • CallerNo6
ruaok, no, not too serious. I just wish that the original "statement of work" wasn't a pd (although I understand why it is)
      • *pdf
      • o well. if the great carbohydrate in the sky hadn't wanted me to retype things, it wouldn't have given me ten noodly digits.

      • gr0uch0mars
        yeap
      • amCap1712
      • since CAA is down, I thought to test by giving a url from my side
      • this is my repo method
      • iliekcomputers
we should be able to link to specific listens in a list

      • gr0uch0mars
good idea to mock the URL
      • amCap1712
but the livedata dosen't get notified of the change
      • gr0uch0mars
maybe beause you're setting directly the release that comes as param: `release.setCoverArt(art);`
      • amCap1712
actually i'm not using live data but only in repo
      • yes
      • in earlier requests we created an instance variable for live data but here for each item we need a new live data
      • gr0uch0mars: so how should I implement the callbacks here
      • gr0uch0mars
i see, it should update the same live data (setValue, or something like that). and that notify the observers
      • could you upload the code and I'll play around tonight?
      • I think that method should modify the same livedata (the same release data)
      • amCap1712
i can commit and push what I have
      • gr0uch0mars
        yes, please
      • amCap1712
I had never imagined it is so easy to encounter all those edge cases of Reactive programming :(
      • gr0uch0mars
hahaha welcome. Views are less verbose, because they're only observing
      • But the inside is a mess sometimes!!

      • Now I have to leave. I'll check the code tonight, alright?

Mr_Monkey: I edited the readme with your suggestions and created the pull request in the original repo this time. Could you take a look to ensure its alright when you get the chance? I'm not sure what those extra commits are, as only one should really matter where I changed the readme.
