ruaok: #74 is ready for review :)
11:06 AM
did you upload the mapping?
11:08 AM
ruaok
no, I kept getting distracted with business stuff. :(
11:08 AM
I'm working tomorrow, so I'll review the PR then and see if I can upload the mapping.
11:08 AM
iliekcomputers
pristine__: are you going to change the PR to do the self.date thing?
11:10 AM
pristine__
I am thinking to not change it as of now.
11:10 AM
ruaok: sounds cool
11:11 AM
iliekcomputers
Why?
11:13 AM
pristine__
I wanted the date to be same for all methods, that is why I declared it as a class var but now when I think of it, I don't remember the reason :(
11:16 AM
iliekcomputers
You could put it in setUpClass and make it a instance variable
11:17 AM
I am arguing semantics here because the date is (from its usage) a instance variable that will be different every time the class' tests are run
11:18 AM
11:32 AM
pristine__: I am happy to approve if you still disagree, but I would like to hear your reasons for it.
11:34 AM

I am a little busy rn, I will make the changes regarding the date by evening.

reosarevok: Soundex is just a suggestion (not going to be implemented indeed), the crux of the issue is about making default search fuzzy, IIUC.

This is more about how MBS talks to the search server.

HI all.
18:48 PM
Anyone familiar with WebService::MusicBrainz? I'm trying to pull the artist, album, and track listing for a given barcode. The first 2 I can get but unsure on the second. I'm querying release and that returns what I am after for artist and album, I try to include recordings but don't get anything back. Am I going to have to do a 2nd query with the id of the release to get the tracks?

reosarevok: where is pg_hba.conf located? (:
19:07 PM
reosarevok
I'm pretty sure that just depends on your system
19:08 PM
SothoTalKer
Client authentication is controlled by a configuration file, which traditionally is named pg_hba.conf and is stored in the database cluster's data directory. (HBA stands for host-based authentication.) A default pg_hba.conf file is installed when the data directory is initialized by initdb.
19:09 PM
but the step to create the db comes after the initialization =O
19:09 PM
i mean after that where u put the usercrap
19:11 PM
well, i'll figure this out (:
19:19 PM

Yeah I tried to include recordings but no dice.
19:21 PM
$releases = $mb->search(release => { barcode => ${barcode}, inc => ['recordings'] });
19:21 PM
That's what I have in my code.
19:23 PM
reosarevok
Huh
19:24 PM
Oh, wait
19:24 PM
Yeah, that's an actual search, which doesn't use includes

Looking at the example for artists, it's using inc.
19:26 PM
my $artist = $mb->search(artist => { mbid => '5c2d2520-950b-4c78-84fc-78a9328172a3', inc => ['releases','artist-rels'] });
19:27 PM
reosarevok
Yeah, but that's not a "real" search
19:27 PM
That's a lookup
19:27 PM
19:27 PM
nelgin
So how would I look up a barcode rather than search for one?
19:27 PM
Oh
19:29 PM
So looks like I need the ID then
19:29 PM
and then lookup using that?
19:29 PM
reosarevok
I'm afraid so
