ah i finished that o_O
2020-07-10 19204, 2020

haven't yet added blurbs to author work :D
2020-07-10 19215, 2020

I even have some ideas to author edition by now so
2020-07-10 19239, 2020
CatQuest
I'm a bit unsure if things like inker and (my new) colourist shoudl be on work or edition
2020-07-10 19257, 2020
CatQuest
i added a colourist to match inker and letterer
2020-07-10 19213, 2020
CatQuest
since colourist is kinda important for many comics/graphic novel
2020-07-10 19226, 2020
CatQuest
..which answers my previous worry
2020-07-10 19246, 2020
CatQuest
if there is a later release with completely differnt art.. that woudl make this an adaptation with differnt work, yep
2020-07-10 19253, 2020
CatQuest
(for comix)
2020-07-10 19225, 2020
CatQuest
what i'm definitely unsure about is licensor (id 39) should this be on work? (I've also idea for another wich is essentially "copyright" (which will be both author- and publicist- since either or both can have copyright))
2020-07-10 19218, 2020
CatQuest
one question: we don't right now have a "entity - country" rel do we?
2020-07-10 19234, 2020
CatQuest
a very common credit i see in books is "so and so is printed in so and such place"
2020-07-10 19207, 2020
CatQuest
also uh "trykk" wich is "print" i guess. wich is usually a company of sorts tat printed it
2020-07-10 19217, 2020
CatQuest
this looks lie ka "publicist" sort of entity
2020-07-10 19238, 2020
CatQuest
printeries is interesting and often label(publicist) linked
2020-07-10 19213, 2020
CatQuest
finally what about places? in mb we have these for venues and label-offices
2020-07-10 19223, 2020
CatQuest
but coudl not publicists and printeries als ohave these?
2020-07-10 19245, 2020
CatQuest
not to mention that famous writers will sometimes write famous books in fmaous places :D
2020-07-10 19201, 2020
CatQuest
(which are fmaous for that those where palces said books where written)
2020-07-10 19233, 2020
CatQuest
in oslo here, we have a special building that was once the house where x writer lived. it has sicne become a palce fmaous writers have gotten recidency
2020-07-10 19218, 2020
CatQuest
places aren't a high priority however.

I wanted to know what exactly was going wrong in dump imports
Looks like request consumer is configured to send stuff to the beta sentry

I'll fix that

The daily activity backend comming around pretty well
2020-07-10 19219, 2020

We will be able to get it done by next weekend
2020-07-10 19233, 2020

Sounds good to me.

We should also add a field to specify timezone in the API, like we discussed
2020-07-10 19219, 2020
ruaok
+100
2020-07-10 19233, 2020
ishaanshah
But we dont have timezones in our listens
2020-07-10 19237, 2020
shivam-kapila
Just thinking. Can we get timezone from user's MB account
2020-07-10 19253, 2020
ruaok
shivam-kapila: we just devised a scheme in the office this week...
2020-07-10 19256, 2020
iliekcomputers
ishaanshah: yes, but we should have a field so that people can submit timezones in the future.
2020-07-10 19211, 2020
ruaok
each user can specify a list of time ranges and default timezones.
2020-07-10 19249, 2020
iliekcomputers
A field in the API
2020-07-10 19250, 2020
ruaok
so, that if they moved from timezone to timezone, they could enter that into LB and LB would do a pretty good job of working with timezones. that is for all the listens that don't have a timezone.
2020-07-10 19216, 2020
iliekcomputers
That's a nice idea.
2020-07-10 19243, 2020
shivam-kapila
Ah so it means enter your timezone(s) and user can choose the current timezone so that we model his/her data accordingly in frontend. Did I get this correct?
2020-07-10 19206, 2020
ishaanshah
iliekcomputers: I will send all the data in terms of timestamps from spark
2020-07-10 19215, 2020
ruaok
shivam-kapila: yes, that is the "default" timezone for all future listens that do not have a TZ attached.
2020-07-10 19218, 2020
iliekcomputers
ishaanshah: I understand that.
2020-07-10 19221, 2020
iliekcomputers
But
2020-07-10 19223, 2020
ishaanshah
And deal with timezon on API side
2020-07-10 19232, 2020
shivam-kapila
ruaok: that sounds pretty clean
2020-07-10 19239, 2020
ruaok
but the more powerful thing is to make a historical list of timezones, so it can intepret your whole history.
2020-07-10 19212, 2020
shivam-kapila
Like user density around various parts of the world. Sounds interesting
2020-07-10 19215, 2020
ruaok
e.g. from 2000 -> 2013-04-15 PST. 2014-04 onward CET.
2020-07-10 19225, 2020
iliekcomputers
ishaanshah: we do want users to be able to send timezones with listens
2020-07-10 19236, 2020
iliekcomputers
It doesn't have to change your flow right now
2020-07-10 19201, 2020
iliekcomputers
But when we have more data re timezones eventually, we'll change the query
2020-07-10 19216, 2020
ishaanshah
Oh, ohk
2020-07-10 19230, 2020
shivam-kapila
ruaok: Now I get it
2020-07-10 19240, 2020
ishaanshah
Ao for now we just assume everything is UTC
2020-07-10 19243, 2020
shivam-kapila
This seems a nice idea
2020-07-10 19250, 2020
ishaanshah
And show it on frontend?
2020-07-10 19226, 2020
iliekcomputers
Right now, let's process data as if it's all in UTC, then show the user the graph in their browser's timezone
2020-07-10 19203, 2020
iliekcomputers
When we have more data about timezones from what ruaok is suggesting and from the API, we'll look into it again.
2020-07-10 19235, 2020
ishaanshah
Cool, makes sense
2020-07-10 19211, 2020
shivam-kapila
We need a well defined profile settings section for user customizability
2020-07-10 19214, 2020

iliekcomputers: cool. Lemme know when you are able to :)
iliekcomputers: this one: https://listenbrainz.org/user/calculator.ftvb Not all the listens end up doubled, but maybe half of them or so. I haven't noticed any pattern that reliably reproduces it (neither pausing and resuming playback nor quitting and reopening Audacious seems to make it happen). The code for the version I'm using is in
Skipped tracks seem to end up listed too, despite not listening to 50%/4 minutes. Makes me wonder if it's saving the "now playing" information as separate listens.
