Telegram "treated differently" because it is different. IRC does not have an inherent message permanency, but we apply one within MetaBrainz in the form of logs at https://chatlogs.metabrainz.org/ - which gives users the option of using [off] to prevent someone random a year from now to search through the log and find a message they do not want shown.

IRCCloud logs per-user and so do whatever personal logs people may have. If I join #foobarxyz now on IRC, I don’t get access to other IRCCloud users’ logs of the channel.

If I join a Telegram group though, I may have access to logs going back to when the group was created.

and like I said. since the talking is done wia the bridgebot, bridge bot can delete any message that starts with [off] after a set time (say a minute or 30 seconds)

but if it's fixed upstream, then all we need to do is invoke it here and then #musicbrainz-telegram cna jsut be #musicbrainz

It has to be implemented here first and then we can talk about the next step. :)
