I closed a few tickets (with the help of yvanz who wrote the implementing code for the other databases ones). The Created vs. Resolved issues report is in the green!!!
Other than that, support and tons of editing, because people were somehow more busy than usual with my subscriptions this week :/
That's about it! So, LordSputnik go
LordSputnik
So this week I divided my time between finishing up mentoring the BookBrainz GCI students, and working on the new entity editor.
We had some great GCI contributions - more documentation and also now all dates are formatted to ISO 8601 across the site

On the entity editor, I've pretty much finished making improvements to it based on Leftmost's feedback, and I'm now generalizing it a little bit to work for other entities besides Creator
zas: what was the tool the are considering using for WS keys?

Wildwatz: Go!
Wildwatz
Ok. Thanks. :)
This week I updated some of the existing How-tos in the wiki docs and created the How-tos for merging recordings and for reporting issues. Additionally I'm creating wiki doc pages for BookBrainz and some related How-tos at the moment, because BookBrainz is very under-represented in terms of information material.
And I forgot to mention the "Write a review" task. :D
Btw: I wish all the other participants of GCI good luck for the winner selection. :)
Then anshuman73 go.

I spent most of the last week working on making Metabrainz.org translatable (still working on fixing some small bugs).
Added two PRs for small bugs in CB.
The week was also filled with nostalgia as I wrote my summary while realising the fact that GCI is coming to an end.

In the upcoming days I will be trying to finish what I started in GCI (i.e. MEB-44)
That aside, I've also been playing around with LordSputnik's entity editing work

arthelon: well done for staying up for the meeting :D (or waking up early?)
chirlu
Leo_Verto, then?
arthelon
yeah I need an excuse to go out for a run anyways

Alright.
gcilou just did GCI mentoring and thinking about what to do after GCI (more videos, documentation, graphics)

Yep
Oops
Freso
Okay. Go.

Go, go!

Opened MBS PR to add 10 sites to the whitelist of linkable other databases approved by our Style Benevolent Dictator.
BnF Catalogue required a bit of additional investigation for persitent IDs, thanks to loujine for his help on this.
By the way, thanks to GCI students who claimed any MetaBrainz task to have shown some interest in those projects.

Freso: weave.me!
We're skipping the userscript item because CatQuest left.
TOPIC: MetaBrainz Community and Development channel | MusicBrainz non-development: #musicbrainz | MeB meeting agenda: weave.me (Freso), dev. sandbox/MBH-464 (Freso), 2017 summit dates (ruaok), centralised place for userscripts (GitHub?) (CatQuest & loujine)
So we're delaying that for another week more.
Anyway.
There have been a couple of editors that basically did nothing but add links for a bunch of artists to weave.me.
weave.me seems to be a site that uses Wikipedia(/Wikidata?) data to gather information about artists.
Apparently they have a bunch of ads (thank you uBlock Origin!).
chirlu
They also don’t work on Firefox with AdBlock Plus enabled.
Freso
Do we want these links at all, or should we tell them outright to stop adding links to this site?
Quesito
do we want them as a supporter?
LordSputnik
What sort of information is gathered from Wikipedia?
Freso
I send one of them an e-mail last week telling them I was going to discuss it tonight, so they have had a chance to make their case.
chirlu
To me, the question is mostly whether they provide own data.
Freso
LordSputnik: Go look. I only glanced over it.
Quesito: I don't think they use MB data.
chirlu
If it’s only things scraped from WD, MB, …, then I don’t think we should link to them.
Freso
(Not that that should prevent them from becoming a supporter.)
(Esp. if they want us to link to them.)
yvanz
Even then…
Quesito
Not sure either, just could change how we talk with them....
Freso
Quesito: But even if so, we might not want the links to begin with.
Quesito
absolutely
chirlu
As far as I could see, their URLs are based on English Wikipedia, so people who really like the display could use a userscript to get the link from existing relationships.
LordSputnik
Actually it might be useful to link to them
Freso
We shouldn't allow people to pay to get us to link to them. We might as well add ads to the site then.
LordSputnik
They collect event data
chirlu
From Bandsintown, yes.
No own data (as far as I could tell).
LordSputnik
Hmm not that I can see either
adhawkins has quit
Freso
So we don't want links to it at all?
Quick vote!
yvanz agrees with disapproval
LordSputnik
Nay
Freso
Flubz: We don't want to link to weave.me at all. (Maybe blacklist it?)
adhawkins joined the channel
chirlu
I don’t, _unless_ they show that they have original data.
