Sup peeps, there's a small mistake on this documentation page, anyone around that'd care to fix it?

      • 2017-01-23 02346, 2017

(and it *is* a wiki -- anybody can fix it)

      • r_dunn
I thought as much, but I looked about and couldn't see where to edit. Actually, there's more than one mistake, some of the example queries don't work, they're missing characters etc.

      • SothoTalKer
r_dunn: documention pages are transcluded from the wiki. at the very bottom there is a link. but you need a wiki account to edit.
      • 2017-01-23 02329, 2017

      • SothoTalKer
r_dunn you could also file a ticket on the bug tracker. but that requires an account, too :D
      • 2017-01-23 02317, 2017

      • r_dunn
meh, it's only a small mistake, anyone worth their salt will realise what's wrong with the URI. Cheers though!

Something seems iffy about the lucene scoring algorithm. The following search for Nirvana's "Nevermind" scores it joint second after "Nevermind Sessions" and on par with "Nevermind, It's an Interview".

the current search algo is really not optimal
      • 2017-01-23 02340, 2017

      • Leo_Verto
I think CatCat fixed most of it but a polish folk group called "Drake" was listed as having done a few collaborations with high profile pop stars
      • 2017-01-23 02341, 2017

      • r_dunn
Yeah, it's kinda annoying to use the API programmatically if you have to write a client side search algorithm as well. :/
      • 2017-01-23 02351, 2017

      • SothoTalKer

The scoring is kind of a mystery. The search server is known to be idiosyncratic. The original dev isn't involved anymore (afaik).
      • 2017-01-23 02317, 2017

      • CallerNo6
It's (the search server) been adopted recently by an active dev.
