zas: Ping? Can you log in to the Discord server instance and do `cd /var/discourse; git pull; ./launcher rebuild app`?
Sophist-UK: I've mentioned it a couple of times, but AFAIK no one has started work on it.
Sophist-UK
Thx.

Gentlecat: Why not support 0-100 input like MusicBrainz and convert it to 1-5 scale for display? I thought that was what was agreed upon in earlier discussions.
Gentlecat
we agreed to keep it the same in the backend to make the transition in the future easier
but having 0-100 ratings just doesn't make sense to me
Freso
Accepting it on the WS/API side will allow people to import from players with 1-10 systems etc., without losing data.
Gentlecat
idk what the history is behind current implementation on MB
Freso
s/import from/synchronise with/
Gentlecat
we have CB-248 for that and I'd rather make it more correct/clean on CB
let's say we have support for 👍/👎. how we know which sale is used then?
Freso
I think it's a bad idea and will ultimately make it harder to entirely move ratings backend from MB to CB.
CatQuest
inherent problem with 👍/👎 rating systems :)
Gentlecat
that would also make calculating averages much more difficult. how would you calculate averages from different scales?
CatQuest
also some systems only have 👍 that is ♡ or star
noting for "i don't like"
Freso
I don't know, but I think that would be up to whomever makes a script to import those ratings to MB/CB to figure out.
*whoever
CatQuest
why not whomever?
Freso
whoever is more often correct than whomever, and I'm not sure whomever is correct here.
CatQuest
hmm i just take it on feel, :D
whom looks right there to me.. but well i wouldn't *know*
Freso
Yes, that's why I "corrected" it.
CatQuest
because it feels andlooks right but you aren't sure?
that's more "*or whoever?" than "*whoever"
but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

one of the farces of highschool was that they tried to teach us e.g. der/dem/den when we couldn't even use who/whom correctly. and most of us still can't.
hmm. "follies", not farces, though there were plenty of both.
