(I'm honestly happy whichever which way it goes, just wanted there to be some trail of discussion about it. Esp. considering the last merge into Yusuf was done in less than 4 hours, not giving all people a chance to vote for/against it.)
(Since it was done before the 48 hour minimum for destructive edits was instated.)

Also, I'll be taking a flight to Copenhagen tomorrow morning and will be up in the cold, cold north for two weeks. (It's less than 20 °C up there! D:)

No chhavi_ or Quesito around either, so no further agenda items.
So I think that's it for tonight's meeting.

Thanks for your time everyone!

GungaDin: Can you give some examples of the MBIDs muspy return that do not resolve?
Are you sure you're looking up the proper entity?
GungaDin
Hey guys. So I'm having a problem: I'm trying to map MBIDs from a service storing them and the MB API and I'm getting a lot of 404s. Can be reproduced easily like so: GET https://muspy.com/api/1/releases will return a list of recent releases. Pick the first one, and run GET http://musicbrainz.org/ws/2/release/XXXXX?fmt=json with it. MB will return a 404 most likely. Now, I'm thinking this MBID might be wrong in the firs
t place, but the service says it's coming straight from MB so I'm kinda puzzled here.
Here's a 404 MBID: 31d94032-1963-404a-ad7e-f1d6bf58a31d
Basically, release groups are the "concept" of the album, and group all the different editions and whatnot
Leo_Verto
so if different publishers were to release the same album, they'd be different releases but part of the same release group
GungaDin
Cheers Freso, my bad I missed your earlier message

Which makes sense to be what MusPy is tracking, so it doesn't give 50 results whenever Big Pop Name Artist releases a new something, but only gives one.
«19:50:08 G<GungaDin> Ok, I did more testing, and I can't find this artist: c0daae21-ec2a-4dd0-a323-4f53f5945d0» - you cropped the MBID. You're missing the "4" at the end.
GungaDin
OMG
Ok
Maybe enough computer for me today ?
Go to bed and stop wasting people time
Thanks man
Freso
:p
GungaDin
I'm sorry
CatQuest
it's no problem :)

Personally, I'm very offended, but that's only because I'm a jerk.
Just ask Freso.

GungaDin: Get a library for your language-of-choice that does UUID validation.
All MBIDs are UUIDs, so if something is not a valid UUID, you know something's wrong right there.
