Everything there is dockerized. We only need to test it once if it's all working together in conjunction

great.
2017-10-30 30303, 2017
ruaok
so when that last PR is merged, then setup the live replication stuff and monitor it.
2017-10-30 30315, 2017
ruaok
once that seems to be behaving, point beta.mb.org to it.

Yes

samj1912
Cool
2017-10-30 30326, 2017
ruaok
then we'll write a blog post about a call to test.

we'll get a flood of bugs, for sure.
2017-10-30 30301, 2017
ruaok
we'll have to be careful to curate them about parity and new features.
2017-10-30 30314, 2017
ruaok
I don't want to go down the rabbit hole of new features right now.
2017-10-30 30317, 2017
agentsim has quit
2017-10-30 30320, 2017
samj1912
I think we have reached parity
2017-10-30 30336, 2017
ruaok
think being the operative keyword. :)
2017-10-30 30346, 2017
ruaok
we probably missed something, but that is expected.
2017-10-30 30352, 2017
ruaok
and if not, bonus!
2017-10-30 30320, 2017
ruaok
then once we go live with the setup, you should take some time to work on picard.

samj1912
I went through search server source code, but yes, testing will be nice, we can also get a measure of how well solr performs under load
2017-10-30 30338, 2017
ruaok
but, the primary focus is search still. If bugs in the setup appear, that is top priority.
2017-10-30 30344, 2017
samj1912
Okay
2017-10-30 30306, 2017

thank you again for getting a handle on all of this. I feel uplifted now. :)

iliekcomputers: I'm going to nuke the alpha-importer bits. should be pretty easy.

samj1912
Meanwhile, I wanted to have a discussion with you and bitmap about the existing search server schema
2017-10-30 30347, 2017
samj1912
It's not really all that comprehensive
2017-10-30 30323, 2017
ruaok
what do you mean by that?
2017-10-30 30343, 2017
samj1912
Lots of things are missing or inconsistent as me and bitmap figured out. We fixed or not added whatever we found
2017-10-30 30304, 2017
samj1912
Well for example the search server indexes only url artist rels
2017-10-30 30308, 2017
samj1912
Nothing else
2017-10-30 30337, 2017
samj1912
It had different relationships outputs depending on which type of relationship it was (missing attributes and so on)
2017-10-30 30358, 2017
samj1912
And has a slightly different output than WS2

ruaok: I have it done almost, I'll send the PR in a half hour or so.
2017-10-30 30315, 2017
ruaok
this is present in the old search server code and now also present in the SOLR stuff?
2017-10-30 30323, 2017
ruaok
iliekcomputers: ahhh, ok. thanks. <3
2017-10-30 30337, 2017
samj1912
Present in old server yes
2017-10-30 30319, 2017
samj1912
Solr too (although I took bitmap 's advice to remove or add stuff which made sense)
2017-10-30 30359, 2017
samj1912
But yes, solr is close current search server than WS2 in output
2017-10-30 30339, 2017
samj1912
Since I coded it entirely replicating the search server Java source code
2017-10-30 30356, 2017
ruaok
oy, this is tricky stuff.
2017-10-30 30305, 2017
ruaok
yes, lets chat about this with bitmap.

It would make sense to add as much as we can that won't break other people's setup (like the rest of the URLs) but there might be stuff we can't fix :(
2017-10-30 30323, 2017
reosarevok is still amazed only artist URLs were implemented

Yeah, I though that's what the discogs importer for example used to try to match discogs labels and places and releases, but I guess not
samj1912: How is that link not a proper link to the backlog?
2017-10-30 30326, 2017
samj1912
Freso it does not scroll to the correct place. You have to find the correct message.

2017-10-30 30306, 2017
samj1912
For me it scrolls to an arbitrary message later that day
2017-10-30 30317, 2017
samj1912
I have to scroll up to find it
2017-10-30 30301, 2017
samj1912
Even worse is going up through the backlog normally. It will load the backlog and then scroll me down to the bottom.

bitmap, Leftmost (and maybe chhavi_, samj1912, iliekcomputers, ferbncode-who's-not-around): Europe switched DST off last night, so tonight's meeting (and coming meetings) will be at 18:00 UTC rather than 17:00 UTC. AFAIK, the US doesn't switch until next weekend(?), and no clue about India. :x
