Hi everyone! Been a while !
aidanlw17
ruaok: okay, I was looking for some tickets last night. Can you clarify what the best dates are? There are some flights overnight, and arriving Friday morning (the 27th)
Should I be looking to arrive the 27th and leave the 29th or should I give more time on either side?
ruaok
spellew: you coming to the summit?
aidanlw17: all flights are going to be overnight, with the exception of one. And you're hopefully not going to london. :)

do you have restrictions for how long you can be gone?
Mr_Monkey: welcome back. have you registered for the mentor summit yet?
if not, that should be your first order of business.
second order of business would be filling out the eval forms.
Mr_Monkey
I'm filling it as we speak
Yep, also on my list for today
ruaok
third order of business is to go have lunch with me this week. 😆
Mr_Monkey
Yay !
Business is good
Thursday?
ruaok
should work ok.
aidanlw17
ruaok: yeah I would like to fly out of Toronto, I will be in school there so it would be very easy. if need be I can travel to elsewhere
ruaok
oh, that makes it much easier.
phew.
aidanlw17
I don’t have a real restriction on the time I can be gone
ruaok
so, lets go for max time then. :)
aidanlw17
Just have school, and will be willing to play catch-up
leaving a day later. american is the worst of the bunch there. otherwise a 13 hour layover in DUB, which is kinda dumb.
Mr_Monkey: so, I dunno what is happening in MUC/BCN on those dates, but catching a return flight on a sunday after the gsoc proceedings are done is ... not smart travel.
given that Meb traiditionally pays for an extra night of hotel, you could spend an extra day in MUC and then fly a convenient flight home in the afternoon.
Mr_Monkey
I don't mind staying an extra day or two. I was just pondering that while looking at the hotel
ruaok
do that.
book the three days with google's instructions.
then book the last night on your own and invoice it.
ruaok: I'm also looking at my travel options from Paris, just in case
I would make train travel more appealing
ruaok
I was about to say that.
alastairp
aidanlw17: have you flown Transat before?
ruaok
even I know to avoid that.
classic shortcut airline that also doesn't skimp on safety.
alastairp
hi Mr_Monkey! welcome back
Mr_Monkey
Hi alastairp !
ruaok
I have a 6er of empty beer bottles for you two in the office.
do you still collect bottles?
alastairp
I only make ring bottles collect
make ring? ring
yes, sure
ruaok
wut?
alastairp
ruaok: I'm being more careful about the amount of carbonation sugar now, many others that are coming good to drink are a bit fizzy
we weren't making good notes on how much we added, I've fixed that
ruaok
ah, ok.
alastairp
it was supposed to be a joke about collect calls, but it didn't come out very well
ruaok
I wonder if the heat makes it worse, up until being chilled?
wow. collect calls. been eons since I've heard that term.
alastairp
heat is going to make it make the bubbles more quickly, but theoretically there's so little sugar in there that it should all be gone by the time you drink it, regardless of temperature
Mr_Monkey
Having brought a crate of homebrew in the desert, I didn't see much difference after 3 weeks of 35+°
alastairp
(I think)
Mr_Monkey: how was nowhere? (how was the beer?)
Mr_Monkey
Nowhere was great, made all the better by avoiding Dia lager and replacing it with homebrews !
alastairp
great!
Mr_Monkey
I had a blast !
alastairp
I've been drinking the second batch of CYP, it's pretty amazing (but just a bit too fizzy)
Mr_Monkey
Mmm, we had the same fizziness issue on the first batch. Something to look into. Maybe changing the yeast?
alastairp
nah, first thing to try is less sugar when bottling
ruaok
deffo less sugar.
not the yeast's fault it was overfed.
alastairp
ruaok has turn australian
ruaok
I learned deffo from a brit.
aidanlw17
alastairp: never flown transat, is it good or bad?
ruaok
bad.
alastairp
huh. google says it's british slang. I was sure that it was aus
