        forgot there were other projects
      • ruaok
it doesn't look like we support that out of the box.
      • outsidecontext: zas: do you know if taggerscript can do that?
      • m00n
yeah, the docs didnt mention anything about it and i didnt see a plugin
      • but i wasnt sure, there couldve been some extra config in a file or something that isnt as well documented
      • ruaok
well, there is a whole tagging language built in called taggerscript. it might be able to do that, but I am not certain.
      • jmp_music has quit
      • m00n
oh alright. Ill look into that when i have time
      • ruaok
do tell, how did you come to spell your nick like that?
      • m00n
idk, its an old alias ive had on freenode for ages, and i used to have a penchant for swapping numbers for letters
      • Mr_Monkey
ruaok: I got BrainzPlayer to work on FF.
      • m00n
was never any intent behind it, i just love the moon
      • Mr_Monkey
Didn't have to do anything to get the page loaded from OpenPOst, but did have to enable autoplay to be able to use the player
      • ruaok
m00n: random coincidence then. that spelling has many many years of good memories for me.
      • Mr_Monkey: let me examine my privacy settings in FF. might be too aggressive.
      • m00n
heh, its only a 4 letter username, theres only so many combinations in utf-8
      • slash in english with symbols
      • btw, is there a right way to spread the artist name from one file onto a selection of other files? Like, to change that tag in all files in the selection. I've just been doubleclicking and removing the "(missing from xyx)" from the tag value, but surely there must be a better way?
      • feels clunky
      • ruaok
outsidecontext or zas could help you with that question.
      • m00n
        thanks
      • Mr_Monkey
ruaok: I'm struggling to find a good way to avoid having content with nothing to do with the track. In your playlist you had this recording; look at what youtube suggests (mechanism would be similar to AB): https://acousticbrainz.org/2c4be698-7a50-4629-b...
      • Not any better with quotes, and it still might return whatever it can instead: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=%2...
      • ruaok
yep, there is always going to be shit like this with metadata matching.
      • Mr_Monkey
Do we just roll with it?
      • ruaok
        for now.
      • Mr_Monkey
        All right
      • m00n
ruaok: it looks like there should be a way to do it i think, though it might be a hack
      • but this script is pretty easy to understand
      • ruaok
but users are going to hate it and drop our recommendation services like a hot potato if we allow it.
      • content tracking disable, ad blocker disabled, autoplay enabled. still no love.
      • m00n
        not sure i follow
      • ruaok
        I'm talking to Mr_Monkey

ruaok: Can you look in the console and see what's throwing the error?
      • ruaok
      • Mr_Monkey
So that's being thrown by the Spotify SDK it looks like
      • Are you on https:// ruaok ?
      • ruaok
        yes
      • Mr_Monkey
        Hrm.
      • m00n
ruaok: yeah im just curious, nbd
      • Mr_Monkey
I think this is some debugging we'll have to do in person, when the day comes when we are allowed to do so.
      • m00n
        >.>
      • ruaok
        sigh.
      • m00n
dont remind me of quarantine, it's already become almost normal to leave the house with a mask
      • Mr_Monkey
        This too shall pass
      • m00n
and i have a bushy beard so thats not easy to get used to
      • ruaok
are provinces given a pass/fail each monday or every other monday? do you know Mr_Monkey ?
      • m00n
indeed, and c'est la vie. Plagues are as old as life itself, at least this time we're doing something useful about it
      • ruaok
fase 1 seems so far away!
      • m00n
do you mind if i ask what country?
      • Mr_Monkey
The Spanish government is meeting Friday to discuss the region's request to extend phase 0 again for Barcelona and surroundings
      • m00n
        ah, spain
      • Mr_Monkey
Catalunya, if you ask some people here, but yes.
      • m00n
i might have known, from what i know of it you guys prefer f rather than ph, right?
      • ruaok
oh, wow. we're requesting another delay. I bet madrid is going to push for it again. 🙄
      • Mr_Monkey
So the Catalan parliament won't know until Friday, and will advise over the weekend.
      • m00n
        oh ive read about that
      • i feel for Catalan
      • ruaok
        m00n: mas o menos, sĂ.
      • Mr_Monkey
To be fair, most of Catalunya will be in phase 1 by Monday. Just un big-city folks here gonna have to suck it up a bit longer…
      • s/un/us
      • ruaok
we do have some of the highest population density in europe, after all.
      • suck it netherlands.
      • Mr_Monkey
        Hah!
      • ruaok
        l'hospitalet in particular.
      • oh another interesting factoid that was published yesterday.
      • m00n
I remember when spain first started seeing covid, it feels like forever ago you ordered a lockdown and youre only just getting to phase one?

      • Mr_Monkey
Two months quarantine last Saturday 🎉
      • ruaok
still not in phase 1. they are being properly cautious here.
      • so 5% of spain has covid antobodies now.
      • Mr_Monkey
Yeah, I'm receiving the Telegram updates
      • gr0uch0mars
I'm in Madrid, and I think I will be in phase 0 for some more days… I don't think we're preparaed
      • ruaok
and if you do that math of a population of 47.1M people, it means that the actual figure of infection is TEN times higher than the reported number.
      • Mr_Monkey
        I'm pretty certain we're not :p
      • ruaok
gr0uch0mars: neither MAD nor BCN are.
      • Mr_Monkey
The parliament here wants to make masks mandatory in public, which I'm sure would help.
      • ruaok
        yep, all good with that.
      • m00n
        10x... wow
      • ruaok
except for during sports. not sure how that could work.
      • m00n: thats not special because spain. that is likely in the whole world.
      • though that range would be drastically different on a per country basis. 5x - 50x would be the range I would guess.
      • m00n
and its so contagious. Is there any definitive evidence that positive antibody tests (i assume thats what theyre using as a proxy) mean long term immunity? Also, is there any evidence for a definite cut-off "you are no longer contagious"? Ive heard stories that people are testing positive (with swabs, meaning contagious) again days or even weeks later.
      • ruaok: i know
      • ruaok
the is no definitive word yet from what I see.
      • Mr_Monkey
m00n: definitive proof of short term immunity, yes. Long-term, well, it's still too early to know
      • gr0uch0mars
until the vaccine arrives I think
      • and I don't expect it until 2121
      • 2021
      • sory
      • sorry
      • m00n
i was very avidly following all this, the models and such especially, but i stopped paying attention almost entirely sometime in late march/early april
      • Mr_Monkey
gr0uch0mars: Phew ! Couldn't take another century of this
      • gr0uch0mars
        hahahaha Imagine so!
      • m00n
Mr_Monkey: true, on long term. Can you link on the short term?
      • Mr_Monkey
        Searching for it :)

      • this doctor (I have reason to believe him to be reputable) suggest we will get at least 3 months of immunity.
      • which leads me to think that if we, on average, get 1 year out of it, we should consider ourselves lucky.
      • I think we can assume that we'll have coronavirus shots ever 6-12 months for the foreseable future.
      • which, of course will push the anti-vaxxers into a bit of a corner.
      • m00n
ohh i like der spiegel's way of dealing with ads
      • ruaok has been stocking up on popcorn

      • awesome, thanks!
      • now if only i spoke german, because google translate isnt doing me any good
      • reosarevok
For German -> English I've heard something called DeepL or something like that is much better than Google

      • Mr_Monkey
        huzzah
      • StackOverflow to the rescue !
      • ruaok
can we mention privacy badger in the error message?
      • Mr_Monkey
I'm not the one outputting this message. But I can add it to the FAQ, I started adding player troubleshooting Q&A
      • shivam-kapila
Speaking of FF. Anyone else tried FF Dev
      • ruaok
Mr_Monkey: another thing to try... when you have a track `Barber's Adagio for Strings (original version)` that does not resolve, remove the parts in () and try again.
      • that track is found without the parens.
      • Mr_Monkey
        from the right artist?
      • ruaok
        yes
      • Mr_Monkey
Yeah. At this point I don't know how to improve it without reinventing the wheel
      • it's a shame Spotify's fuzzy search doesn't work in this case
      • I mean… we could also remove any parenthesis but that sounds like a. a bad idea and b. a slippery slope.
      • ruaok
this whole thing is a slippery slope. which is why I was prosing a limited ecosystem that always resolves.
      • Mr_Monkey
I think if we serve a bigger playlist we'll have a good number of playable songs (once we add youtube results
      • ruaok
yes and possibly hide tracks that don't resolve...
      • woah. this very first playlist doesn't actually suck. O_O
