maybe it's just me, but I'm surprised that you have some Falses in there (~= "haven't listened to")
maybe it's just because your listening history isn't very comphrensive? or perhaps artist name matching isn't great
I got all Trues, meaning my recommendations were all artists that I already listen to. I need to look further into the recommendation list
Mr_Monkey
Possibly They're not in my LB history. Not unknown to me though.
alastairp
yeah, right
OK, I got it to kick out 100 examples for me. and I've still listened to almost all of them :(
I guess I'm not very adventurous
Mr_Monkey
Well, I guess that's the limit of this method: It'll give you thing you're quite likely ot like, and to have listened to before
alastairp
the next neat addition would be "listen to x because you already like y and z"
Mr_Monkey
Which would make for a good playlist depending on the mood
alastairp
yeah, this is the core 'feature' of CF

Yes, that's where the exploration begins. That and collaborative filtering
alastairp
does anyone remember when lastfm used to have the "compatibility meter" with other users?
so you could see how similar together your music tastes are
oh wow. here's something amazing
I took the first artist on my recommendations that wasn't in my listening history
and put it on spotify
and I recognise the songs. spotify has played me this music before

yvanzo: Hey, can you tell where the data is taken for LodBrok ? And if I can have access to it ? I won't be able to achieve the same accuracy if I don't have the data but definitely can replicate it if that's enough.
Leo_Verto: ^
Leo_Verto
data is directly taken from MB
but it (obviously) includes a bunch of PII
diru1100
Yea, that's the issue. So should I just work on synthetic data generating script which fills those 11? Required parameters and run them again through the data_generation file that you wrote ?
Also, the trained model files are also not available 😅. The model I train with generated data might not have the same accuracy. That's where the challenge lies ig.
yvanzo
diru1100: yes, but accuracy is not an issue for now.
It should reproducible, documented, and usable.
diru1100: You can get an editor table from a local MusicBrainz Server.
It won't have any useful data to train the model though, just the table columns.
diru1100
Noted, for now I will work on training the model with generated data. Later I will use local MB server to get access and how the data can be transferred in general.
MBH-540: Restart livegrep-codesearch service after each re-index
