and a bit earlier I gave tools for people to diff their histories - so far it looks quite promising.
we don't think we lost any data and should be able to migrate to timescale very soon.

CatQuest: If someone who’s been called doesn’t show, I’ll strike them. If they reappear, I can readd them.

last week was a bit of a mixed bag, dealing with being hot in BCN and distraught at the world....
but I did end up doing work over the weekend which got some stuff done -- the recommendation tools are coming along and I hope to have an example script to share with people this week.
the good news there is that everything will be hosted -- meaning that in order to play with the toolkit all you need to do is download the python sources and start playing.
no need to install a DB or download data.
Mr_Monkey
Exciting !
Freso
That’s amazing!

Last week I worked on migrating the LB player section to the new design proposed
The right side is almost done
It would have been done hadnt college work arrived
This week will be partially engaged in college projects
But I will catch up soon
I am pretty much excited to see timescale moving towards release
I think thats it
alastairp: go!
alastairp
hi
I was in the office with ruaok and Mr_Monkey for a day last week
managed to have a good discussion with Mr_Monkey about the display of listens on the main profile page. specifically, we raised LB-656, and started coming to an understanding about how to deal with timezones
I also looked into some stuff about similarity, asking hard questions like "what even is similarity" - we have some questions about that way that we're measuring the similarity of BPM between recordings
after a discussion with ruaok we realised that some of the features that we have in AB and that we want to use for our recommendation system would work best with search, rather than similarity, so I started to have a look into what it would take to add some basic search to AB
that's it. Mr_Monkey ?
Mr_Monkey
Yo !
Last week I worked mainly on improving pagination. For ListenBrainz, that's nevigating to the next/previous page without reloading the page.
CatQuest
ooohhhh
Mr_Monkey
For BookBrainz, it's about saving pagination parameters in the address bar
CatQuest
\o/
Mr_Monkey
Ah, and also implementing keyboard navigation for both
Because.
CatQuest
hmmm
Mr_Monkey
I worked with prabal on the User Collections project, mostly reviewing PR. As CatQuest mentionned, I deployed it to test.bb today
Have at it !
CatQuest
yes please test everybody!
Mr_Monkey
A bit of repo upkeep and that was it for my week !
