I don't follow any artist close enough to be on their discords, but I guess it would make sense to autoselect those if they are common enough
ev

I don't know, that's why I'm asking :) I assume the channel remains (at least as much as a twitter account or something), but I dunno if the invitation links expire
well, it seems taht they can be set to never expire and be unlimited
however, there's no way to tell if a given link is one of those
I feel like supporting this would lead to someone (probably an artist) putting invites up every 90 days and then removing them

erh
shlled out?
wait paid for?
wat you can pay for plugi-ins now
that's deff a scam
reosarevok
You can pay to support tampermonkey
CatQuest
hm
I'd pay open source instead
*to
reosarevok
Like for MB, it's not mandatory
Hmm
I didn't know Tampermonkey is (now) proprietary actually
CatQuest
yea
atj
that's why I recommend Violentmonkey. I used to use Tampermonkey before the developer changed the licence and made it closed source.
CatQuest
I miss greasemonkey, it had a cute logo and worked well
(I still have like 3.11 installed on old fox)

If someone could approve this edit it would be very helpful, so I can add all "part of xxx DJ Mix" comments in one go https://musicbrainz.org/edit/86469122

I was honestly under the impression that it was still OSS albeit the only way to get a prebuilt version was by paying
it wasn't too pricey
but then it didn't actually work
atj
What are the benefits of using TM vs VM?

atj: from a userscript developer perspective, no significant difference. Both are decently compatible. From a user perspective - I like the UI of violentmonkey better :)
atj
kepstin: exactly, I don't see any reason at all to use Tampermonkey now

iirc, both TM and VM are mostly compatible with scripts written using either the greasemonkey 3 or greasemonkey 4 apis (the two versions of greasemonkey are incompatible)
that only affects scripts that use special apis provided by the extension to do things the site on its own couldn't normally do, tho.
CatQuest
huh
kepstin: which version of gm uses which api? ie version 3.0 would use what api and version 5.7 use which api? when cutof point?
(if you know)
kepstin
greasemonkey 4 and later use a different api from all previous versions
this doesn't affect that many scripts - most musicbrainz userscripts, for example, don't use the extra features so work on either version.
(some examples of what it allows is script private storage that the web page can't see, adding script or style tags that would be blocked by content security policies, making cross-domain requests that would normally be blocked, adding right-click menu entries)
