        :(
      • I accidentally set a series to a release-group level series, whereas I meant to set it to the release level.
      • This is a reissue series so not correct to put a whole release group in, just the reissued LPs, as of July last year... so now I need votes :(

      • added the series just 10 minutes ago.. so frustrating that it goes to a 7 day vote to fix something like this

can't you just cancel the edit?

ev: I would def be too impatient! Make another series and then merge 'em once stuff has passed if you're like me
      • slightly naughty but if it encourages you to add data I think that's the main thing

derwin: most add rel edits are autoedits, and so was this
      • It will take 48 hours, since you'll probably have 3 votes, not 7 days, but still

wait why the hell isn't "change series type" for an empty series autoedit for autoeditors
      • (thus aprovable)
      • i don't see how that is destructive
      • reosarevok
        The series isn't empty :)
      • KassOtsimine
        uh
      • oh.. you cnat rmoe rels.. ack

      • KassOtsimine: Not saying it should be automatic, but e.g. changing release label does go through automatically, which is a curious contrast.
      • KassOtsimine
        yes

I was inspired to add the series in the desperate hope we may get some more news about new releases soon :(

ev: yeah, changes to newly added things are usually reversible but not for relationships right now
      • We should look into that, it's in the list of tons of stuff to look into :D
      • ev
no, i mean that you can change a label regardless of whether the 24h has passed
      • reosarevok
Hmm. I'm not sure that's meant to be an autoedit :D
      • ev
      • never ever had that go to vote
      • i don't mind, it was very convenient :P
      • KassOtsimine
hm. i asume it was on release made less thn #hours ago by you?
      • MRiddickW has quit
      • ev
        nope
      • reosarevok
        Hmm
      • Maybe that was made into an autoedit at some point because it's trivial to change back
      • ev
that was me fixing up someone else's hatchet job (a fan of 'passenger' who imported throuh the a-tisket and didn't bother to check that they were actually using passenger's own label)
      • is there a list of auto-edits somewhere? or is it hidden to avoid spam?
      • KassOtsimine
reosarevok: unless it's the last link in wich case the label will be deleted? :D
      • uh .. hu. actually do we have a list of "what thinga are autoedits (and why where they made so" at all? i don't think we do actually)
      • reosarevok
That is a fair point re last link, but :)
      • I'm not sure we do, would need to check. yvanzo might remember if there is
      • yvanzo
        no idea
      • KassOtsimine
well getting the list would be programatically easy. just find it in the code
      • then .. ahh but why
      • if yo uget me the list i cna make a document and start asking why
      • (document it)
      • ev
I am fairly handy with coding, but I'm not really sure where to start. Cursory poking around the code does not seem to suggest there's a specific list of relationships, rather, whether something is an auto-edit seems to be accomplished directly acting on the database?
      • Is there a schema that lists each edit and it's nominal status, as in, whether it goes to vote or otherwise?

it is tthe documentation week so we're going ot look inot trying ot document that i think
      • ev
        derwin: yes, i understand that
      • specifically whether something is an auto-edit depends on specific checks that a given piece of data exists

Can anyone help me figure out this display issue? If you look at this newly-added release: https://musicbrainz.org/release/05fd5da0-ca0b-4... you'll see that the detail page shows there's no artist tags for the 2nd medium. But... it's definitely there. If you try to Edit it you'll see they're already there, but they only show up while you're editing, not in the final rendered page
      • Am I missing something, is this expected behavior for some reason?
      • elomatreb[m]
<apetresc[m]> "Can anyone help me figure out..." <- Do you mean the "artist" column in the tracklist? That only shows up if any of the artist credits of the tracks are different from the release artist
      • It's shown for the first disc because the last two tracks have a different credit
