Hey, i'm trying to attach a CD TOC since it's apparently unknown to the database, however the site tells me with a red icon "The medium cannot have a Disc ID attached", am I doing something wrong ?

hmSuper: are you trying to attach it to a download (digital media) or vinyl?

I'm ripping my CD music collection using Whipper which apparently relies on MusicBrainz, however one CD isn't getting recognized

That's supposed to be a popular release tho maybe i'm in the wrong here

Sciencentistguy: re. the country spam, I think 200 may be omitting some quite specific areas? I don’t think we’ve really decided how to handle that yet (e.g. worldwide minus asia)

If you chuck in a link I’ll see if NZ gets a different barcode + distributor/label :D

Sciencentistguy: Yeah there’s heaps, it’s because the most popular importer does it like that whenever there’s a country missing: https://atisket.pulsewidth.org.uk/

Good importer otherwise, I use it!

Interestingly that release you just sent through *is* worldwide, so I’m not sure why it lists all the countries :S

According to atj, who maintains it in a holding pattern, the code is not very fun and would have to be rewritten anyway for more people to contribute!

aerozol: atisket used to pick up a bunch of "world - (russia + belarus)" that now appear as "world"

idk if something's changed on spotify/deezer/itunes' end, or if atisket has changed

but that might be why it appears to be worldwide now

"rewrite atisket" has been on my programming project ideas board for months, but i've never managed to get round to it
