Im trying to access the PostgreSQL datadumps that i downloaded (using Dbeaver) but im unable to access them due to not having a password and username. I cant find any reference to any password or username on the website though. Am i doing something wrong?

Hi there. How do I add old releases from an artist that are no longer available online?

The artist I'm working on appears to have purged a lot of their works from a decade ago, and the only evidence the songs existed are old YouTube embeds that lead to 404s

archive.org to the rescue?

Yes :) Literally anyone - you need to enter a merge edit though

On both sidebars, click "merge" - then select the one that you want to keep and say why you think they are the same in the edit not

If they're something else, there's just one merge method so it's easier

If you check "open edits" in the sidebar, is your merge there?

If so, all is probably correct

(because merges are destructive changes - at least one entity disappears when they apply - they *always* go through a voting period so others can check them)

Several of the old releases do seem to have "itsTribe" in the cover, not just "Tribe"

Did the artist name change?

If so, the old credits should probably not be renamed when merging - we want the credit for each release to be what was actually used in it, even if listed under the same (new) artist name for the artist itself

If that's the case, you should probably cancel the merge, then re-enter it without checking the "rename credits" checkbox

But the general idea is in any case correct, and the end result would be a "Tribe" artist with all the releases for both under it

not sure when the server error started, but seen it for the last 20 mins or so

Picard 2.9 sends API calls to that domain

the API is returning 503

It shouldn't talk to that domain unless you have certain plugins enabled

so....my interest is in 1) seeing if this is affecting anyone else; 2) supporting whatever I can to get it fixed

There were server issues today with almost all Metabrainz sites, most of them are working again now but very probably nobody has gotten around to restarting AB yet
