hi, I have a question about my ISNI and MusicBrainz, there is an incorrect connection, could it be fixed?

hello
where do we find sabbath bootlegs and soundboard recordings?

eletric_: MusicBrainz is a music database, it doesn't store any music or have links to non-official sources
so basically, you're asking in the wrong place

Hi all, I have a vinyl record I'm currently adding to the database. However, I'm a little confused about how to format the track list.
The first track is O Canada, while the next four tracks are the four movements of Beethoven's Sympony no. 7 in A Major.
I was curious how I would make the distinction between the two portions. The album in question that I'm working on has a Discogs page here, and I was wondering if there's a way to format the release similarly on MusicBrainz. https://www.discogs.com/release/10998255-Calgar...
Thanks a bunch. I'll add a vote and provide the album as an example where it would prove useful.
Also, while I'm here, I asked this last night, but I have another vinyl record here that has a "Accompanist", "Choral Speech Director", and "Music Director". I was curious how I would credit those roles to a Release.
I'm especially interested the the former two as they appear to have been prominent local figures and are the grandparents of NHL player Jarome Iginla.

he title of "music director" or "musical director" is used by many symphony orchestras to designate the primary conductor and artistic leader of the orchestra.
I'd say choral speech director would be conductor as well ? I'm not sure
is it a classical release ?
Binzy_Boi
This one's a record for a local school choir. It's mainly bilingual vocals since it was a bilingual school when it existed, but there are some tracks where flutes or recorders are played.
Lotheric
I'd use conductor then
you can specify vocals for the relationship
or instruments
@reosarevok
knows more about classical stuff than I do
Binzy_Boi
I'm hoping to learn more about classical works since I'm hoping to clear these records out, but just don't want to get rid of them before contributing the information to the database
reosarevok
Binzy_Boi: hi! the tracks for the symphony should be: "Symphony no. 7 in A major: I. Poco sostenuto vivace" etc
"accompanist" might mean "piano" but you'd need to listen to be sure, I guess?
Binzy_Boi
Thanks! So I do that for the time being while the above ticket is deliberated?
Also I'll double-check. I don't have a record player anymore, but I did upload the audio to the Internet Archive while I had my recording setup
I do believe it means piano since the lifetime achievement award for her does mention her talents as an accompanist and includes a lot footage of her playing piano

That's how we do for all classical music with movements and whatnot :)
And yes, then it's almost certainly piano
No idea about choral speech director, but you can always use "miscellaneous" and literally type that in
Music director is *often* conductor but not always - is there a conductor credited separate from that?
Binzy_Boi
There is not, no
reosarevok
Then probably that
Binzy_Boi
However, I'm cautious about using conductor here as music wasn't the person's specialty.
They were more involved with sports, and likely did this to help his wife, who was the accompanist
reosarevok
Do you have a link? :)
Binzy_Boi
To the entry yes, but unfortunately there's no online pages outside MusicBrainz as it's very niche.
I'm thinking of donating the album to a local archival society once I'm finished with it here

No cover art yet, ok :) Do you have any scans by any chance?
Binzy_Boi
Ah, that's a concern I've been wanting to figure out. I don't have a scanner and don't know where I can access a scanner large enough to capture the full album cover
(but not a native, so I might have still left some bits a bit messed up)
Binzy_Boi
So we follow the style as outlined in the guide even if the capitalization on the record/sleeve itself differs?
reosarevok
If you know the specific composers for the tracks they would ideally be the track artists (I understand a fair bunch of these are [traditional]
)
Yes, that's the point of the guide :) (otherwise we'd not need one ;) )
Binzy_Boi
Perf, thanks for the insight. I'll be sure to follow through with that. The capitalization formatting should also help me with Open Food Facts as well as most the products I work with are in both English and French

I'll try to scan at the library, and if they don't have a scanner large enough for the album cover, I'll try and see if the local archives do.
Everything else I have thankfully seems to have their covers online already
reosarevok
Often a decent mobile photo is a lot better than nothing
Binzy_Boi
I'll go for that as a last resort.

Thanks for the help, greatly appreciate it all. Hope I'm not asking too much here, and if I am, I'm more than fine being directed to the proper documentation
