do anyone uses Lidarr by any chance?

I wonder how to retrieve artist names for VA compilations, there are onky track names but no artist names next to them when I add release to Lidarr..

I hope someone has a fix for this perhaps..

I'm sure MB release has all the information, it just doesn't get pulled in for some reason..

release naming question about artist intent: https://musicbrainz.org/release/f5f55d4a-3c6c-4... has the title be title case, which disagrees with the style on bandcamp,spotify,youtube.

 I *presume* that's a clear enough marker of artist intent to just go ahead and rename it, or is there another reason why it's titled like that that I'm missing?

(went ahead and made the change in https://musicbrainz.org/edit/108591268 and 108591374 , but still curious about how strong of a signal of intent artist's official bandcamp/etc page is)

i522: Hard to say! Sometimes a label’s house style is all lower-case on Bandcamp, but that isn’t really artist intent. Looking at unlucky wind, titles are all over the place… looks like label house style, though, so ?? The release title is definitely wrong as-is, though—if title case, “in” shouldn’t be capitalized. aerozol, looks like you might have opinions here…

crism: fair enough, always can be reverted if need be, but unusually styled titles aren't exactly uncommon so i'm more inclined to call artist intent. (new editor, but been using the database for a while, and in the past at least I regularly went to tag music from the database and the database has capitalisation/style that disagrees with an

official bandcamp download)

though i presume the rules about fixing up titles apply more when there's more than just the artist dealing with the track listing/title before you get it, where you can't really assume artist intent from that

if it's cinsisten at bandcamp, spotify, youtube then it's more likely it's intent

if they mention it in lowercase other palces

i522: the mix of cases in the track titles also looks like artist intent

aerozol ah, didn't notice the track titles were autocorrected too. i'll fix that too (annoyingly, can't use a userscript for it because some tracks are just missing from the bandcamp/soundcloud)

i522: you cna use aa n import script and copy-paste from the new one int othe edit screen of he other one possibly? that works for me

yeah, i ended up importing as-is with beets and using `beet list "unlucky wind" --format '$track. $title - $artist ($length)'`, then cleaning up where that changed the artist titles. Just manually verifying that the titles that *do* exist on bandcamp have correct titles now and that i didn't undo an intentional change

Someone explain why there are so many artists out there called Syzygy...
