Hello everyone. Is there a way (external software, plugins etc) that allows to automatically fill releases for artists? I just found about muspy, a service that allows me to subscribe to new releases for my favorite artists, but it relies on MB to find new releases, and a bunch of niche artists have some releases missing.
I'm ready to use my own server to scrape artist pages (bandcamps, soundclouds etc) at some intervals (for example, daily) if there's a solution that works.
I'm fine with some info missing (like, if a release is an album or an EP or an exact release date or tracklist) as long as new releases for artists I choose at least exist somewhere on MB.
I could probably just use rss-bridge and manually scrape and follow each artist page, but automatically submitting new releases to MB would benefit a lot of people, not just me, so I'm looking for something that does that instead of just using something for myself.

<04elomatreb> vort3: We generally don't want automated edits without human supervision
<04elomatreb> A couple of people did this in the past and it always left a mess, some of which people are still clearing up
<04elomatreb> There are importer tools that dramatically reduce the work needed to add releases from streaming platforms though (e.g. https://atisket.pulsewidth.org.uk/)
<04elomatreb> (if you want to follow new releases before they are added to musicbrainz, I have a small tool that supports Spotify and Bandcamp for now: https://releasefeed.elomatreb.eu/)

Oh, thanks, I'll see if I can use your tool instead of muspy then.

Yep, it works. Why didn't I know about it before? It's exactly what I need. Is there an RSS feed for news about your tool? Just in case you decide to stop maintaining the project or something, how would I know about that?

<04elomatreb> vort3: I don't really have a feed like that, but you can subscribe to the Codeberg repo page linked in the footer I guess
