How does a tech house record get released before the artist was born in 1970?

<04elomatreb> 1970 (and especially January 1st 1970) often show up when computer systems have messed up date records for technical reasons

So likely the distributor set a null date in the files metadata or did not set a date at all?

<04elomatreb> yes, or something got messed up during copying

<04elomatreb> in any case you should be somewhat suspicious of release dates from streaming platforms, because they often simply copy the release date for the CD/Vinyl/etc

bitmap: are you affiliated with them? Can't they have a maintenance process making sure the index.json is correct and recreate it if not?

eharris: I'm affiliated with musicbrainz, not the internet archive. the CAA is curated by musicbrainz & we're primarily responsible for maintaining the index.json files there

and yeah, I've been working on some maintenance tasks to fix them in the background, but for now it has to be done manually
