Hi eharris and mr44er, if there are better options to fix missing index file in the CAA, then bitmap may know these.

      • aerozol, reosarevok: If I added “pass” to suggest the description of Ticket above, that’s because some dictionaries were defining ticket as a pass and that reminded me that some passes can also be collector pieces. Does that make sense?

are there any automods that can pull works from linked discographies and add to works? e.g. https://musicbrainz.org/artist/d11eeea1-a8bc-4d... missing album in external link Discogs
      • or are there data quality issues that makes this unviable
      • discordbrainz
<04elomatreb> yes, e.g. Discogs considers things separate releases that we may not
      • <04elomatreb> there are importer tools that can make importing releases a couple of clicks, but generally we don't want automated bulk imports without a human in the loop

eharris (IRC): mr44er: no need to re-upload the covers, next time just send me the release URL and I can trigger a re-index for you
      • reosarevok or yvanzo could do it to, it's documented at https://github.com/metabrainz/artwork-indexer?t... 😉

        bitmap: Thanks for the reminder!
      • mr44er[m]
that is only possible with admin rights, I guess
      • bitmap[m]
reosarevok[m]: As in who to contact if the index is broken? That would make sense, I don't think we document it anywhere
      • reosarevok[m]
        Yeah
      • yvanzo[m]
reosarevok: It would be nice to also update the descriptions of Ticket and Flyer before we start uploading source strings to Weblate.
      • reosarevok[m]
Sure, I also just added Map
      • Earlier today
      • And might still add Lineu
      • s/Lineu/Lineup/
      • Did you want to update weblate today?
      • I'd wait for aerozol ideally too to review the new addition(s)
      • My current idea for Lineup is "An image usually showing the artists that will perform in an event, with less detail than a schedule (for example, an early festival lineup announcement). Can be a standalone image, but also a poster or banner (in which case all applicable types should be set)."
      • So, similar to schedule but specifying the difference
      • yvanzo[m]
reosarevok[m]: I was hoping so if we want to release on Monday.
      • reosarevok[m]
        Ok, that seems sensible
      • yvanzo[m]
For Map, should it exclude or include the regional maps with directions for reaching the event’s location?
      • reosarevok[m]
Dropping "A flyer is" seems obvious enough
      • So I did that
      • yvanzo[m]
Also do we support any “unofficial” event art in general? Does it need to be specified for maps? Should we add “Unofficial” as a type?
      • reosarevok[m]
Well, it was kinda-sorta an attempt to say "not a google maps screenshot" but maybe "official" is not needed
      • Unofficial as a type is an interesting idea, but not sure what others think. aerozol and some discord peeps might have opinions :)
      • yvanzo[m]
Maybe “Plan” would be less ambiguous from this perspective?
      • reosarevok[m]
<yvanzo[m]> "For Map, should it exclude or..." <- I was thinking those should be included as long as it's an actual map/illustration made by the event
      • Which is why I left "map" - I considered "Map/Plan" too
      • But we generally don't like double names I feel
      • I'm happy to use it if you like it
      • yvanzo[m]
        Map is great then.
      • It isn’t clear from the description that maps to reach the event are included though.
      • reosarevok[m]
I just thought I would not explicitly mention them in the description because it's probably less common and it's already quite long :)
      • I'm generally of the "if it's not clear it's not allowed, be bold" view of those things
      • But if you feel it needs to be specified, I can add it, do you have a wording suggestion? :)

      • bitmap[m]
        aight, I'll look at it
      • reosarevok[m]
        Thanks! :)
      • It seems like it should be an easy fix but I don't have time today to dive into rels-editor code
      • (to drop only the invalid rel and not all)
      • yvanzo[m]
reosarevok: “An internal plan of the event, or an external access map specifically created for the event, for example showing the recommended ways to access the event, or the location of the MusicBrainz stand inside the event.”
      • reosarevok[m]
        We're EVERYWHERE
      • "An internal plan of the event venue, or an external access map specifically created for the event, for example showing the recommended ways to access the venue, or the location of specific stages and stands inside of it"
      • ?
      • relaxo5 kinda wanted "campground" to be included there too for festivals
      • I'm afraid it's getting very long, but 🤷‍♂️
      • BobSwift[m]
<reosarevok[m]> "Should this be documented..." <- Or perhaps include a button on the release's cover art page to request a re-index?
      • reosarevok[m]
At least maybe a link, like "If (whatever the conditions are showing a reindex is needed), contact us"
      • bitmap: remind me, which were those conditions? :D
      • Is it "it's not getting thumbnails after forever" or is the image missing entirely?
      • bitmap[m]
reosarevok: just if the index.json is missing or has incorrect information
      • or if thumbnails were not generated
      • yvanzo[m]
Ultimately having a button for editors would be great, but that requires some work to prevent abuse.
      • reosarevok[m]
Well, sure, just I guess they won't see the index.json issue from the MB side since we don't show that
      • So the symptom actually visible from our side is thumbnails?
      • Or lack thereof

reosarevok: Is the above suggestion of Ticket’s description a receivable replacement for initial translation source string?
      • bitmap[m]
the lack of thumbnails is a different issue from index.json being broken, though they are both solved by triggering a re-index
      • issues with the index file will be apparent in the API or in Picard though
      • reosarevok[m]
Hmm. Maybe just "if you see something strange, such as the thumbnails not being generated for a long time or (whatever happens in the API), contact us"? 🤷‍♂️
      • yvanzo: are tickets sometimes *not* used for admission?
      • yvanzo[m]
Sure, they can be used for using cocktail robots.
      • “used for using” ^^
      • reosarevok[m]
"A document generally used for admission to the event, be it a piece of paper, a digital document or something else. Use this also for ticket stubs and passes." ?
      • yvanzo[m]
reosarevok: Additional suggestion for Flyer: s/document/paper/ as engraved stones don’t fly far enough.
      • reosarevok[m]
I didn't use paper because I expect you can have digital flyers
      • (I bet some are made from fabric or something too, but that wasn't really in my thoughts at the time)
      • I need to leave soon, meeting some family, but does my ticket suggestion work, yvanzo ? I made the change to Map as suggested
      • If you want further changes, I think you need an account admin but bitmap has the privs, so just ask him :) I'll defer to your combined judgements
      • yvanzo[m]
reosarevok: There is a repetition: _document_. It seems more complicated than the original. But we are lacking time, so just set it for now.
      • reosarevok[m]
        I agree, I didn't like that bit
      • "A document generally used for admission to the event, whether physical or digital. Use this also for ticket stubs and passes."
      • Seems simpler?
      • This could be a stone, I bet :D
      • yvanzo[m]
        That wouldn’t be a document then. :P
      • reosarevok[m]
        I mean, if I paint a stone and say "GUD 4 ADMISSION" isn't that a ticket? :D
      • I'm going to set that for now
      • Feel free to change it with bitmap later, I won't get angry :)
      • MAYBE
      • reosarevok[m] is off for now :)
