I'd say that adding "music" to a genre is a bit redundant ;)
I usually check , and if it is not marked as a subgenre in MB then I also apply the more general genre, as that can be helpful for folksonomy analysis and promoting tags to subgenres (correct me if I'm wrong reosarevok )
