I got a question... how is the Album Artist of a release usually determined? I'm just going through 4 soundtracks for Horizon Forbidden West:... (full message at <https://matrix.chatbrainz.org/_matrix/media/v3/...>)
<12lazybookwyrm> The acoustid page shows all linked recordings, are you looking for something else?
<11iconoclasthero> yes... i'm trying to take an unidentified song, get a fingerprint of it, and see what is like it.
<11iconoclasthero> the fp won't be in the db, but google's song lookup can sometimes figure out what it is
<11iconoclasthero> also, i'm trying to avoid using any other site beyond musicbrainz.org so if i get a uuid match back from the acoustid api i can look it up directly on musicbrainz instead of having to go back and forth.
<11iconoclasthero> but, realistically, that latter part will probably not ever be used if i can't get a list of promiscuous matches.

iconoclasthero: if you send the fingerprint to AcoustIDs lookup API it will respond with matching AcoustIDs and the linked MBIDs of the recordings. It also returns some metadata, but you can also then use the MBIDs to lookup the full details from MB API.
Not quite sure what you are asking, though

<11iconoclasthero> ok, i found the switch to turn on the metadata being returned so that, i suppose gets around trying to use the AcoustID track UUID directly.
<11iconoclasthero> so then to get back to the first part... i have an unidentified track e.g., google has a service that can attempt to look up a song after sampling a small (or sometimes less so) sample of the audio.
<11iconoclasthero> that eric bibb song's a studio album and neither of the acoustic matching services should have an issue with it.
<11iconoclasthero> I'm trying to figure out a way to identify unidentified tracks on bootlegs and was hoping that acoustid could return a list of matches which i could look through to see if any of them make sense in the context of whatever it is i've got to identify.

<06salaxceitor> hi there! I've been exploring MetaBrainz projects for a while now, mostly listenbrainz and critiquebrainz, and I have a doubt about data syncing in case anyone is intested in answering: In the context of crititiquebrainz (this may apply to listenbrainz too), how do you keep in sync reviews with the associated MusicBrainz entity? Let's say for a example that I write a review for an Artist that is
later reported as spam in musicbrainz and therefore deleted from the musicbrainz db, what happens with the review in critiquebrainz db? does it ever get deleted ? or does it become a ghost review 👻 ?
