Hey tarulia , you can definitely change all the releases under ‘Horizon Forbidden West’ artist to their actual composers or various artists. It’s a shortcoming of streaming services that releases are (incorrectly) credited like that, which MB handles in series etc

Done. What happens to the empty "Horizon Forbidden West" artist after the edits go through?
<12lazybookwyrm> It'll be auto-deleted if it has no relationships

tarulia: Nice! I had a minute so I had already deleted the relationships in preparation for your edits. I left some notes on your edits, hopefully not too annoying :D
I guess for that one it would kinda make sense? Just wasn't sure if it would make sense to keep them together since the soundtrack overall is credited to Joris 🤔
aerozol[m]
The credits are so evenly split I think it’s pretty clear that it’s VA! It would be appealing in terms of tidiness, keeping all the Horizon soundtracks in one page/artist, but for that you can use a series (example: https://musicbrainz.org/series/c1fca078-0449-48...)
tarulia[m]1
hm
was about to say could also add the Horizon Zero Dawn soundtracks to the series but I wouldn't even know what to call the series then 🤣
Guess it could just be Horizon as Wikipedia calls it
aerozol[m]
Yeah I think so. Or even both, e.g. Horizon (video game series) + Horizon Zero Dawn (video game)
tarulia[m]1
I assume the order in a series is just determined by release date?
aerozol[m]
The default one, yeah
tarulia[m]1
also wondering if it would make sense instead of using "Various Artists" to use all 4 as release artist? in the game credits they're also all 4 credited as composers
You could def do [artist 1], [artist 2], [artist 3] & [artist 4], but personally 1 track from each composer “feels” VA to me. I’m not sure if there’s a guideline on where to draw the line
tarulia[m]1
IDK this might just be personal but IMO VA fits more when the release artist is unrelated to the individual artists/composers
aerozol[m]
There’s no guideline that I could find so ¯_(ツ)_/¯
You can enter the edit how you would prefer it, other editors can feedback if they don’t like it

uh nice, it does extract the wikipedia summary when linked 😂 wasn't sure about that
now if only audio players could actually utilise that data :P
aerozol[m]
Nice work!!
Fun fact: If you use a wikidata link instead of a wikipedia link, MB will use it to serve up a blurb in the users language (if that wiki translation/page is available)
tarulia[m]1
mh good to know
IDK if it has a WikiData page though.. it should, but I don't see it linked from Wikipedia anywhere
aerozol[m]
Oh yeah, it’s kind of tucked away. Let me check.

not really a fan of the new Wikipedia layout lol
I liked the old school one that looked like from the 80s
Nice. Yeah I didn’t find it for ages when the layout changed! I like the general new look of Wikipedia though, easier to read imo. But change is always weird
yeah it seems only Apple Music does that (for now)
its also a completely different cover though so not sure what the appropriate way to handle that in MB would be
aerozol[m]
Different cover = new MB release, but since MB doesn’t have support for adding animated covers (yet?) it seems very silly to make a new release for those
Just to make it clear, the Zoom sessions are (currently) only for the Plenary sessions from 5.30-7.30pm India Standard Time / 12-2pm UTC, right? There are (currently) no Zoom sessions scheduled for outside of these time periods?
tarulia[m]1
also apparently I am too dumb to even find the animated version in the chrome dev tools 🤔
aerozol[m]
I’ll make a quick edit to the post to clarify, thanks - As I understand it from a brief discussion with Rob today the plan is to have Zoom sessions for the “TBD: Breakouts, Project Plenary, etc” sessions as well. I’m not 100% sure when those links are going to be created and shared
tarulia[m]1
tarulia[m]1: yeah.. I'm actually blind, the element is literally called `video-artwork` 🤣
discordbrainz
<13zabey> aerozol: new release for each frame of animation? 😉
tarulia[m]1
Also I just noticed that the HFW soundtrack is actually credited to all 4 on Apple Music... sssooooo ugh
Yeah I have mixed feelings as well, but wouldn’t lean enough either way to put in a vote (I’m not sure that the guideline mentioned is just talking about what’s on the cover, but chaban is a very experienced editor so I wouldn’t dismiss it)

> Use only writers and performers who are featured on the front cover (or the spine); don't add artists from the back cover or the inside of the booklet or other places.
It does kinda of say that but IMO that is just not an ideal guideline to begin with. I get that it's for consistency, but sometimes consistency doesn't make sense
There's a difference betweem a VA Album that is basically just a compilation of things and an album where there's just multiple people involved
