Hello, is there any news regarding cover art edits? Internet Archive seems like it's back, I'm just not sure about whether the required access for cover art edits (some kind of API access I suppose?) is back online

hmm. as of the last update, they do have limited uploads and api access going: https://blog.archive.org/2024/10/28/internet-ar... but i don't know if that specifically covers the access that CAA uses.

yeah they were oddly not specific about that

there should be an announcement from musicbrainz and removal of the warning banner on the page once musicbrainz devs have confirmed everything's working again

is there a way to add relationships to recordings while adding releases or do you have to open the recordings and edit everytime?
reosarevok[m]
Guest24 (IRC): not while adding releases, but you can click "edit relationships" and do all applicable recordings in batch
(you don't need to open each recording separately)
kepstinbrainz
specifically, click the 'edit relationships' tab at the top of the release page
Guest24
ah, thanks, forgot about that
also, this track artist crediting - `雄之助 feat. 初音ミク, GUMI & 鏡音リン`
would this copy over the exact same? the recording already exists on an album, but it uses the track artist credit `雄之助 feat 初音ミク&GUMI&鏡音リン` so should I keep the former on my release and keep the latter untouched, or change that as well
reosarevok[m]
How is it shown on the album?
If it's the same as yours, change it, if not keep it :)
Anyway, use what you have on your release for your release

i'm not sure if Picard is on-topic here, but: in a tagging script i'm doing "$set(_artistfn,$replace(%_artistfn%,\\.\$,))" and for some reason it doesn't work - the value of %_artistfn% ends up as "Mono Inc." with the trailing period intact
oh hang on, because i need rreplace. never mind!

ok, i have never done classical music tagging before so i have a bunch of probably obvious questions. starting with this artist entry: https://musicbrainz.org/artist/acb319e1-9502-48... - there is only one release listed under "discography", so does that mean this is the only release in the database containing works composed by John Eccles?

The recordings and works tabs are probably better indication of that, for classical music.
I’m not that familiar with classical styleguides but it seems that you only credit the composer on the release level if they are on the cover/spine of the release: https://beta.musicbrainz.org/doc/Style/Classica...

I have a SACD Release, but only a normal CD drive, but could submit the disc-id for the CD layer. How would I go about doing that?
