is it normal/possible for entirely different releases to share catalog numbers? i'm talking about like different artist, different album, same catalog

If you release something you can give it whatever catalog number you want, there are no rules, no catalog police. So there will be duplicates

In the case of Wanderland by Missile Girl Scoot, if it is this version then the catalogue number is TOCT-24569, based on the scans:https://www.discogs.com/release/8746089-M...

I wouldn’t trust a rip much, if at all. But it seems they are likely to have taken it from the matrix in this case

yeah the other rip seems to be the good one, it came with a matching cat to the one you mentioned, which is what i added to mb earlier

i'll keep that one and get rid of the other

It comes with a PDF with a bit of an explanation about the māori instrument pūtangitangi, including instructions on how to make one yourself out of clay :D

The tracks on the album itself are interesting because of the amount of pūtangitangi used and the mix of sounds you can hear, but tbh I think the sounds of that type of flute (more common is the bone version) are better suited to a single flute used sparingly. Because of the lovely haunting sound. But still, interesting!
