it depends on the merge strategy you selected

if you select "merge mediums and recordings", it will merge the recordings as well

(sadly there isn't a merge strategy that just merges the release and leaves the recordings alone)

also speaking of recordings, i realise i forgot to add recording-of relationships for these bootlegs

i do wish the web interface would pre-populate the search field with the track title when doing that, it would make it a *lot* quicker

ivy: if you use the release-level "Edit Relationships" tab it does that for me

Luckily you can listen to music while editing, but you can definitely add a bunch of releases in the time it takes to add one album! I wonder if I’ve added more releases than I’ve listened to in my life

i recently learned about "earbook" packaging and i'm very disappointed it's not a CD case made out of actual ears, that would be very metal

i noticed that releases by a certain artist have a different cover on bandcamp vs. spotify. The cover from bandcamp: seems like it's a copyright violation. should we have separate release because of differing covers? I used to upload both variants to the same release

ivy: record club releases (BMG e.g.) often don’t have barcodes, though they typically have a blank space where the retail release has one.

crism: would those not at least have a label/publisher name? (this has no identifying information at all aside from the track list)

Yeah, same cover art, but that release asserts a barcode with no visual evidence…

the EAN was there first, then a different user added the artwork years later
