why is there a japanese script if we already have hiragana and katakana? is it supposed to be used when both are used together?
UltimateRiff[m] joined the channel
UltimateRiff[m]
Guest24: correct. I don't know how often Hiragana would be used as a script, but I know Katakana could be used for transliterations to Japanese (for example, from English). the Japanese script is for Japanese in general, a combination of Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji

Not familiar with vocaloids, but seems like a classic case of recording = technically correct, track/release = as credited.
Guest44
would it be additional, guest, or solo?
aerozol[m]
Are they the only/main voices in the song? If yes, probably none of those. You could set them all to “lead vocals” in the drop down (if they are all leads) but that’s not required either
Guest44
yup, thats the case for most vocaloid songs, songs with no featuring human artists will only have the vocaloids voicing, there are very few producers who sing in them
only unique case I can recall would be Pinocchio-P who has backing vocals in almost every vocaloid song he's made
thanks for the help
oh right, the yt video has multiple credits I should probably add as well
the video's the exact same as the song; it doesn't get a separate recording, right?

i guess illustration refers to the video thumbnail and the album art, is there a relation for this?
the illustration relation seems more fitting for the movie credit
oh, is it design/illustration?
aerozol[m]
illustration: drawing a picture (by hand or with software)
design: combining pictures with other elements, like text
If that helps :)
Guest44
the description for the relationships is confusing me, lol
illustration - This indicates an artist who did illustration for a video recording
design/illustration - This indicates a person or agency who did design or illustration for the track
might be being a bit obtuse here but do you mean to say illustration doesn't depend on the video recording?
aerozol[m]
Oh, for video. I guess a video/film wouldn’t usually credit an illustrator… if it’s just a thumbnail then that’s a bit different (btw we don’t set the “video” flag if it’s just a thumbnail/still). I assume that “illustrator” for film means more like a set illustrator, something like that. But I’m not sure
Sure looks like it has a bunch of illustration! And the credit is explicitly “illustration” (if we are talking about Oda Kogane). I think you would be safe to set them as the illustrator
Sorry if I misunderstood your question, to clarify: design/illustration is if you don’t know the more specific credit. If you know it is design or illustration, use the more specific one
Guest44
right, I did put it across in a confusing fashion, my bad
what about the movie credit, then
aerozol[m]
Not 100% sure… you will definitely come across cases where it’s safer to just put the credit into the annotation, either because we don’t have a matching relationship, or because it’s not clear exactly what the credit refers to.
I wonder if this would be the “video director” relationship, but it could also be more of a ‘video editor’ role, which I don’t think we have a relationship for
It might be be helpful to wait for a vocaloid expert btw, I’m pulling this out of nowhere :D
The editors for this type of stuff tend to hang out on Discord, if you want to have a more permanent connection
