Yeah, I do use EPs on stuff that feel like EPs even if they are not explicitly claimed as such

As long as there's no suggestion that EP is not right :)

Hi! When I add the cover art of a Single CD, which "type" checkboxes are the correct ones for the little "flap" that often contains the barcode. For example: https://ia801204.us.archive.org/34/items/mbid-cd0…

the small stripe is the "spine". What is the rest? "Back"? Should I then select "spine" and "back" at the same time for that scan?

kepstinbrainz
huh, i don't normally see that as a separate scan, i normally see the whole insert scanned flat.

kepstinbrainz
(which I add as front+spine+back, so i think spine+back makes sense for this)

Vacuity
I'd like to keep the "front" separate, so it can be used as "cover art" for example in beets / navidrome

kepstinbrainz
yeah, i normally make one image that's just the front for applications to use as the frontiest image, and another which is the complete scan.

Vacuity
(and yes, that is an extra step when postprocessing the scan, but one I'm willing to take :) )

Vacuity
mh, from a completeness point of view your approach has a good point. I guess I'll do that from now on. Thanks!

fwiw, "frontiest" is the technical term for the first image labeled 'front', which is the one that will be used as the identifying image for a release by most software ;)

Vacuity
Yes, I already figuered that out. thanks :D

That image is back + spine in my opinion, Vacuity

But agree with doing a “front” and a “front + back + spine” for this little sliver! Just comes down to personal preference though
