        Unexpected but pleasantly surprising crossover!
      • How'd you discover her?

So crazy that people would do this when the dataset is available
      • lemuria
        What dataset exactly??
      • YoMo12[m]
      • lemuria
So what exactly were people doing that they could have just done so with the dataset?
      • elomatreb[m]
scraping the website with a crawler

<lemuria> "How'd you discover her?" <- Through other music streamers. I don't remember now exactly who.
      • lemuria
leftmostcat[m]: Seems fair. I still remember the exact history of my discovery; I was watching the Jedi Friends Raid Train, and was watching OctoberEmberMusic when they raided into Nalani Proctor
      • Hell, I also remember the exact timestamp of my first message in her chat; 2023-06-17 07:57:36 UTC+8

anomie_ (@_discord_242800896772276224:chatbrainz.org) keep in mind that Discord replies are not bridged to IRC/Matrix users, so if you reply to older messages it can be confusing

And that's before I get to the even more fun part of timestamping individual performances in VODs; a streamer VOD will often contain many songs and many originals; I guess this is roughly analogous to a concert recording??

Ai crawlers aren't there for mb. They are crawling any website just to get text.
      • They don't care about the MB data. Heck, I'd even say their owner don't know about MB. Which is sad as not crawling MB is a win-win. MB get less requests, and crawlers can crawl actual text on other websites

lemuria: I asked this the other day and got the anser: Anything that was actually released in some way (so not a e.g. mixtape for a friend, but yes to a band that printed 100 CD-Rs and sold them at a concert) https://community.metabrainz.org/t/what-belongs...
