I used spotify to compare recordings but now i heard they are mixing and matching tracks from different releases. E.g. you might get a live recording on a studio album. Can someone confirm this?

MBians, I'm currently having to detangle what I think was a bad recording auto-merge; I myself actually disambiguated the live recording last year, but now I'm seeing all the studio cuts merged into that same live cut. Even tho it's redundant, is it a good idea in a situation like this to add a disambiguation for the studio cut as well, since there's been mistakes arising?

If on a streaming service (apple music) there are 2 separate "single" releases for a song, one for the instrumental one for the regular version, should those be separate release groups on musicbrainz or one release group with 2 releases each one with a unique recording?
