Hey, quick question regarding physical releases. When it comes to cover art for vinyl records and CDs, is it best practice to use the same cover art as the digital release assuming the only difference is scan quality, or would it still be best to use a lower-quality image of the cover art scanned or photographed from the original media even when the art is the same?

binzy_boi: personally I would prefer the lower res 'actual' scan is used for the CD, and the digital media cover is added as a separate release. Then the digital release can be set as 'release group cover' and used to tag, if that is peoples preference.

But I don't see a huge problem with using the digital cover if you prefer and it really is the same (no different logos, colour changes, digipak covers can't be square, etc)
