Soloist and conductor in BIG LETTERS, the orchestra in tiiiny letters under the conductor

      • reosarevok[m]
I guess having the conductor above the orchestra here makes sense

Mary Hopkin's album "Y Caneuon Cynnar / The Early Recordings" (https://musicbrainz.org/release/a65f4180-a36b-472…) is a CD of Welsh translations of various pop songs.

-How do I relate these to the originals? Do I put them in as cover versions?

-Is there a way to credit the translator? (Admittedly this is only given as "Gwyn Davies and others".)
      • 2025-10-17 29001, 2025

      • reosarevok[m]
No, you create new works and link them to the originals with work-work relationships
      • 2025-10-17 29007, 2025

      • reosarevok[m]
(and you credit the translators on the works :) )

Ahhh okay, because in my personal tagging for my personal media library I tag soloist and conductor first, then orchestra.

reosarevok[m]: After having put a relationship in, how do I credit the translator? Here's a link to the recording on the test server: https://test.musicbrainz.org/recording/66f22573-e…

I already had that bit. I think the problem was that I was adding a new recording rather than a new work.
      • 2025-10-17 29051, 2025

      • reosarevok[m]
Assuming all the works are new, you can probably batch-create them with Song / Welsh from the release's relationship editor though, if the recordings are not already related to stuff

does anyone know how to get around the wayback machine redirecting archived pages to the live site? I'm trying to view an old version of https://www.beatport.com/release/aleph/1182749 but it keeps redirecting me to the current version
