I tried looking up a CD with picard on linux. It told me no matches were found and showed me the dialogue box where I could submit some new data. Once logged in to the MB site I'm showed a screen where I can search for the cd either by artist name or mbid. I put in part of the artist's name and found her and the album. Any idea why neither (whatever is behind) abcde nor picard could find any
Hi everyone I was just exploring Musicbrainz and got curious to know that how Musicbrainz handle adding large number of recordings specifically from big collections or archives ? Is it like users manually filling all the details for adding a release , adding an artist etc.. one by one ? Or is there any tool or scripts or automation bots which helps in bulk addition or some automation to directly update on mb database I don't

<reosarevok[m]> "kellnerd: how good are you..." <- Hmm? I'm missing the context of the question, but it's been ages since I last played a string instrument 🤔

reosarevok[m]: I THINK it has a discID. I'm pretty noob about this tho. abcde creates a temps dir called abcde.<hex-number>. That hex-number of 8 digits is the discID, right?

No idea about abcde tbh, but on the MusicBrainz release page you can check the disc id tab
@joeDoe Just make sure it's exactly the same release of the CD as you have. There are loads of CDs which look the same, but end up being from a slightly different release, perhaps from a different country or a re-issue, etc.

Hey, do audio tracks that are only released on youtube belong on musicbrainz? I'm currently looking at an mp3 version of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptk68qC1woI that has no metadata
