a 71‐track release i want to catalogue has gone through more than twenty track cover art changes at many different, unknown times

For me it is usually when someone merges a bunch of remixes with original recordings and you have to try to separate them back out.

that sure sounds mindnumbing

luckily, i have yet to go through anything even remotely close, as, being almost the only person taking care of a particular niche, i catalogue alone most of the time

I think the mindnumbing thing I’ve done so far is adding a couple of the “Divine Chaos” series of vaporwave releases. A mess of aliases and arbitrary artist names that are hard to find proof of existence outside of that particular release

not the most mindnumbing thing i have ever done in musicbrainz, but noting the leitmotifs of songs, which at times have been as many as nine, is something pretty mindnumbing that i have to do somewhat often

(unrelated to the above message) i find that the most mindnumbing part of cataloguing is often writing the edit note

I generally have relied on harmony to automate importing data. It's extremely convenient

That way you also don't need tapermonkey and external scripts that could kess with your computer

Harmony is fantastic for the services it supports, but it doesn't support everything and the userscripts do a great job filling the gaps
For importing Spotify releases into musicbrainz, is there any reason to prefer a-tisket over Harmony or vice-versa? I've tried both and they seem exactly equivalent. Just checking if there's some comparative advantage I'm missing.

Harmony is generally better because it fetches info from other platforms (tidal and beatport)

the only reason I'd use atisket nowadays is to double check info from withdrawn releases or geoblocked releases

If a-tisket has any feature which you are missing in Harmony, you can request it on GitHub or in the support thread.

Presumably ‘TL’ wasn’t allocated until after that last updated date, so MagicISRC doesn’t recognize it
