<crism> "I think it’s a 12-digit UPC code..." <- I concur. Just look at this contemporary release, which for whatever reason prints a very similar cat # and barcode, yet the barcode is 12 digits: https://www.discogs.com/release/15514068-Darryl-P…

Would love some opinions on this:... (full message at <https://matrix.chatbrainz.org/_matrix/media/v3/download/chatbrainz.org/BVzvUichbpvelFKOayHykRDd>)
it says it's by both COMACOZER & Congulus although the title is PSYCHIKOS which is just by COMACOZER.

my opinion is that 3 entries could be included: 1 for both bands with the title including Sanri/Psychikos, 1 for each of the bands i.e. Sanri for Congulus & Psychikos for Comacozer as all these also can be linked to their 3 bandcamp releases

also, would it be COMACOZER or Comacozer? I see variations across the platforms

The existing version I added myself a few months ago, but didn't realize it was only songs by one of the two bands, so I will amend it if we keep separate RGs for each side of the split

<Lotheric[m]> "My cell phone's camera reads..." <- crism (IRC) aerozol Turns out it was 054391999443 (I compared with another single from the UK and the barcode was 054391999474)

hey, wondering if there's any guidance on a release's title being entered in two languages on the same release
from what it looks like in the images, on the album art itself, the title is displayed most prominently in japanese, but also smaller in english. i looked at the MB style guide but couldnt find anything clear on how to format/record this structure in the database

i personally find both discogs' "English Title = Japanese Title" and MB's "English Title [Japanese Title]" to be cumbersome, i would imagine it's preferred to just choose the main one?

i should note that on the album back cover track titles are listed in japanese and english too, but only in english on discogs and MB.
however, this is an artistic choice that is consistent on their Bandcamp, for example

sam2, sounds like a case for a pseudo-release, with the main one in Japanese and pseudo in English.

Hey monkey, I add a lot of those 'each band puts one side of a split on Bandcamp

aerozol[m]
releases'. I have them as separate releases, but in the same release group. There is a forum discussion about this somewhere - in short I don't think the artist intent is ever (or very rarely) to create a new 'release group' when they do this, it is purely functional.
Not too fussed how you enter yours, but overall - if you made new release groups for bands that do this a lot (e.g. bands like Agathocles with hundreds of splits) it would be a real mess! Heaps of release groups with the same name name, and no idea which rg would be picked by Picard's scan... and a result that is neither what the artist intends or what the user wants.
