elomatreb[m]: I have used "[legal name of Eggs Spam]" style "legal names" in the past where I couldn’t find one for the purpose of linking entities together.
(E.g., if I know that X is a grandchild of Y but I don’t know the parent/child name in between, I would create one called "[parent of X, child of Y]".)
elomatreb[m]
yeah that feels like an acceptable last resort too
Although I do end up wondering if the "performs as" relationship wouldn't be better off it were symmetrical

is picard of any use for albums without release in MB db? can it be used to submit new releases?
outsidecontext
p9: you can still save tags for those files, and use tags to rename
and there is the addrelease plugin that helps you submit new releases from clustered files in Picard
p9
is it more convenient than submitting through web?
elomatreb[m]
It can be, it pre-fills data like track durations which can be annoying to type out by hand
outsidecontext
it is still submitting via web interface, but prefills data
