the problem with paying people for their effort is that you don't pay people for accuracy. And if you do, then you get into social problems when people get outraged because their money is threatened.
Money is the cause of, solution to, yet another cause of, every problem ever.
Or in a slightly related way, something I've been saying a lot lately: Technology does not fix Social problems.

technology and money can... impact social problems... overpromising does not necessarily mean that no problems are solved
for example, I used to have to pay money to get people to take free stuff I don't want anymore.. technology definitely solved that problem for me...
