@lovesegfault[m] Looks good but are there other similar releases that aren't 24/96Khz? If not don't see the reason for disambiguation?
lovesegfault[m]
Proactive disambiguation
because there are non-high-res releases of these by the same label evel
and if someone adds them it may cause confusion in the future
I always add the hi-res disambig unless the album was released only in high-res, which is very rare
Cheezmo
OK, just not a fan of disambiguation that doesn't disambiguate from anything.
Without a "barcode" or other info, there is nothing that would preclude this from being the same as any other digital releases, hi-res or no.

this release doesn't like images, maybe because the scans were put in some kind of amazon copyright database, I got an error trying to upload images from vgmdb for it. Should I remove the image that's there now since it leads to an archive.org error page?
it's getting confusing tagging further without seeing my previous changes :(

we can assign "lead vocals" or an instrument to a member of a group, but can we assign "composer" to a member of a group?
rdswift
Yes, but that is a Work relationship.
You must first create a Work (if one doesn't already exist) and assign it to the Recording. The "composer" is then added to the Work.
Similar to the way performers are added to a Recording.

outsidecontext: I don't have a preference on truncation, rather on what's published on sources I copy from :)
reosarevok
iceman1415: so,not as a member, no
CatQuest
that kinda seems like an interesting "member" thing though

King_DuckZ: I actually agree on that. To be honest I don't find it a good idea to set the values to a full second based on what MB would usually round to (as it was done in the edit linked in that discussion). I'd either set the duration to what the sources say, or I'd actually set proper subsecond precision (as can be done via disc ID or even in release editor seeding), then MB (or any client using MB data) can
actually do the rounding as it wants
iceman1415
wait nobody brought this up before? in a lot of bands, one dude does most of the writing / composing too, no?
let me make a forum post

iceman1415: or, a couple of people (very famous writer/composer combos)
fwiw I agree with "use what other soruces say OR "insert actual subsecond thing via picard/discids"
rounding up or down is eaquily "wrong" when you're at 0,5/0,49 ish
roundsing 0,1 down is fine i guess, but it stil lbecomes strange

King_DuckZ
I agree with what you wrote me, about having a less generic category than just "digital media", and I actually think the problem is the streaming platforms, like the apple website
Erin
yeah, if we want to keep them separate
the meta info should be equipped to bear out what the difference is
as it is people are just writing notes int he disambiguation
King_DuckZ
like, check this out https://musicbrainz.org/release-group/cd082d4e-... today I added the ototoy relaese as a separate one because it has a different catalogue number, and this release group turned into a similar mess to last time
Erin
fun
if it has a unique catalogue number thought, that should do enough for you
